I found the breakaway parts I need for the M1102 trailer. Etrailer.com has all the parts new at a reasonable price. They are being shipped directly to me.
Today it was 50* and I took advantage of the fair weather. I vacuumed out the brake fluid from my M1102 trailer and cleaned the inside of the reservoir, the cap, the cap rubber, and the threads and top of the master cylinder. I refilled the master cylinder with fresh new DOT 5 purple fluid and...
How about an M1102? They are making nice campers out of them. I also have a few M1010 bodies that would fit on a M1102 chassis frame. I have the gears turning on making one of them for resale. More in the future.
You don't really need a 4 core. A 3 core will do fine. And my experience has been that the plastic / aluminum cool better. That's my opinion and years of use. maybe I was just born lucky. I don't try and analyze everything on a truck by where it is made at and what is the best.
At this point...
Modulator just has an O ring. I hope everything is well now. Make sure you do not have throttle shaft seals leaking on the injection pump. That can make it appear to be the rear main seal also. The leaking fuel washes it's way down the valley and the rear of the engine and appears black like oil...
Good Deal. No before you go all sure about the oil leak check everything up top. I changed rear main seals at customers' requests, and it was the vacuum pump seal leaking or a valve cover. Everything that leaks into the valley of the engine up top drains out the rear hole in the valley appearing...
I have no clue what the numbers mean on the injection pumps. I do know it ran great for the past 8 years and there were no issues. So, the incorrect pump can be ruled out.
And now for something completely different. I like the clean look of the wheels. I am still thinking about the trailer color. I am going to paint it. I picked up new tires and the wheels have been sand blasted and painted. It dropped the height down to 28". Still 10" higher than the Rock...
You do NOT need the glow plugs back on the engine in order to bleed the nozzles. I would spin it over with the delivery nozzles loose. See if fuel is coming out. The heavy wire (red/pink) is the 12 volts on wire. With a test light see if you have 12 volts when the switch is turned on and off...
The point is that you did it. And you did it yourself. As long as the metal tubes are not making any contact with anything you have completed an A + Job. Congratulations. Most replacement lines I have seen on peoples CUCV's were just swinging in the breeze unsupported. So, if you went thru the...
I am, thank you. Feeling stronger every day. Keeping busy outside in the cold with firewood and trailers that I bought. I learned a lot about the M1102 / M1101 trailers and trailer chassis. Looking forward to advance on this Little Red as soon as Spring arrives.
Yea, After I sense a hard start, I check the glow plugs first. I have found 1 glow plug can make the difference. Most times it is 2 glow plugs. I once had the engine ingest a glow plug at highway speed. I did not know what happened at the moment. It was 90* and I was on the interstate. It tapped...
After over 27 years of private CUCV ownership I have never had cascading glow plug failure. Did I have glow plugs fail? YES. Did I have glow plugs swell? YES. I drove CUCV's thru mud and water that deep it was in the doors on the floor inside. The glow plug resistors smoked and smelled hot for a...
Mudflaps that run all the way up to the top of the inside of the fender will keep the ice from building up and stressing the wiring. It may get a bit wet, but it will not take the constant pounding of the rain and snow. The anti-sail brackets do an excellent job of keeping the mudflaps in place...
I was out buying a new toy this AM. It was not the one I wanted but it will be just fine. I looked hard to find a decent M1102. I came across one that was an hour away and I grabbed it. I was bidding on GovPlanet but I can't sit and monitor that. I towed it home and it trailered great. Like...
Did you remove the glow plugs and have the nozzle nuts loosened during the air purge? That is how I start trucks after a frame off and reinstalling the engine. That is the only way I found to get enough cranking speed to purge the air. I also get a visual on the glow plugs. Something is wrong...
Just keep in mind that the fuel in the injection pump and filter assembly is still contaminated. It will self-clean once you get it started. Good Luck.
I did make the curved feed line from straight 3/8" hose and it has never been an issue. I do recall it had to be just a bit longer and I used split loom to wrap it in as a protector. Good Luck. But getting it drained completely should be easy and even flushing it with a gallon of known clean...
