Yeah, they had so many people ask to buy it over the years they were originally asking like $350K just to shut them up.
As the saying goes "everything is for sale, it's just matter of negotiation now"
And if you have a backup camera display in the cab, I bet it sees things that those lights don't make out in detail. I'd say make good use of that before spending several grand on surplus NGV. Plus can you imagine trying to talk your way out of a ticket for driving while wearing NVG? "What's...
Yep, that's my point exactly.
WE ARE NOT IN COMBAT
So there is zero need for combat NVG while driving a 30,000 lb truck in the civilian world.
As far as the NVG topic itself, not sure why it's really in a camper build thread to begin with but...OK.
You driving around on your property/the beach/a trail at night and someone is shooting at you? Did they see you or just hear the truck ?
We're not really discussing combat use here if I'm not mistaken. I doubt GeoPen is signing up/re-enlisting. And if he does, they will give him a free...
Again, I'm not talking about running in a blackout situation.
But as I said, no one needs to outside of combat, LEO, or criminal operations? If it ain't the Boogaloo, if you ain't LEO, or if you're not running cartel products across the desert than it's a bit nonsensical, IMO. In fact, I...
IMO, if you're not stealthing about at night (and you sure as hell won't be sneaking up on someone in your LMTV) then there are a lot of viable display options for any old little backup camera w NV (ie: most all of them). Put a really strong illuminator on the front of the truck and a...
I maybe just have a good nose, but I can smell the ether the scant few times I've ever tested a truck.
I don't know if there is a way to see if the bottle is full. What's the TM say?
*edit: I see you have a fresh can so n/m
Well, I've seen a few civilian ambo boxes put on trailers (way better than just cutting off the ambo cab and adding a tongue).. ;)
I think it would work fine.
Not sure what's to discuss. The sprung separation is between the box sub and the upper of the two frames on the truck. A gap is expected as the weight of it all rests on the capture points. It could be a faction of an inch or as much as the spring releases when stretched...
I have a strict "don't ask don't tell" policy when it comes to such legalities as CDLs.
And as to brakes, couldn't you just cage 'em and not use the air brakes. ;)
*not like I've really done that several times but I have a Jake brake
Also, I'd make the straps a few inches longer if you do make your own.
I know you guys want only 100% OEM but I add a few inches of (removable) height to my frames by inserting a 2" collar/spacer. A few inches make a HUGE difference (I've seen guys go taller by making extensions for each...
Any leather, shoe, canvas, tarp sewing place can make them. If you know anyone with a heavy-duty sewing machine, there's not much stitching involved and the D-rings are commonly found all over the place.
I may eventually (it will be post-build though, as time for travels nears). I figure that if I'm tearing it down for one, then I may as well do the other while in there. I do a lot of sand driving and lockers have been sorely missed a few times.
