Please help identify an FMTV manual

Awesome ! I spoke with a member about the A1R stuff he had, but the Dropbox link he sent me was dead.

    AC Compressor Mounting Bracket Plans

I think the last part I purchased *anything* from an actual dealership (with their insane markups) was in the '80s. That said, commercial/semi truck ac brackets have been priced around $80 for years since I started looking (increased to about $100 of late due to Brandon)...

    AC Compressor Mounting Bracket Plans

So you're saying that they are 20x the cost of the same civilian part? ;p

    LMTV Air Conditioner

Just curious if this one uses the same driver-side mounting location or if it slings off the passenger side. I've seen both used on LMTVs (the later being quite common in civilian CAT engines).

    FMTV Splash Guard/Mud Flaps.

Shhhhhh, <insert_point_of_compass_surplus_scalper_here> will figure out that we're onto their little scam... ;)

    Shelter/van body mounting options

He took a stock S280 and fabbed the external legs. I subbed his channel because of the awesome content (and not because he panhandles for subs). <holds up cardboard sign:>"SUBSCRIBE 2 MY CHANNEL SO's I KAN GETZ THREE CENTZ CUZ I IZ POO!!!!!!!!" <----I hate beggers and panhandlers ;)

    Shelter/van body mounting options

Personally I *much* prefer the system Neal came up with. And for long term stowage, it can be lowered (if you might worry about elements that might topple it when parked, like the 50mph winds we see often on this part of the coast). I love my M1079 but do miss the convenience of the flatbed...

    Shelter/van body mounting options

The problem is they become sooooooooo expensive that they price themselves right out to the the range of the average persons with sights on an overland build. And material costs, shipping, etc have driven up components.. So what was a $10k empty box four years ago is now a $15K+ box (just a...

Yep. But they weigh a gallion lbs.

    Its finally here!

I spy a Skookum in that box. Worth almost as much as the truck (according to some surplus scaplers). ;)

No, you ain't 'sneaking' around anywhere in one of these trucks.

    Shelter/van body mounting options

I saw one some months ago up at Lytle, TX. it just sold the other day. There have been about four out of their yard in the past year. https://www.govplanet.com/jsp/s/item/5819790

    Shelter/van body mounting options

Why not just get an s280 from GovPlanet, GovDeals, GSA, or PublicSurplus actuation sites? I can only imagine how much the <insert_point_of_compus_surplus_scalpers> would rape community members for a NOS 280. I've seen NOS float thru several of the auctions. While not cheap it's a small...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

People like you make the surplus scalpers cry. I like you.

    PULL OUT CAMPER STAIRCASE

Heh Honestly, more than two people in a 12.5' box simply isn't a viable option so it's no family Winnebago. The M1079 is TINY compared to some of the "overland adventure truck" monstrosities out there. It fit's in a standard parking spot and while there are plenty of places it might not...

Yeah, Ibis Tek made single, dual, and system controllers. Those you show there were the later design from Ibis Tek if I'm not mistaken. The searchlights are more of a "GoLight" type housing design there (with a removable shield and I think larger light). I love the look of the controller...

Or just make sure you're not running your offroad-only lights while on the road. ;) I have a pair of those Ibis Teks as well. I do recall reading somewhere that by default the IR come on and you have to manually activate the visible spot by default (it's done this way so as to not give...

    PULL OUT CAMPER STAIRCASE

Businessman is standing in a hotel lobby. The most beautiful and elegant woman walks by and he says : "Excuse me. I know this will sound odd but will you come up to my room and have sex with me for a million dollars?" The woman thinks a second, then asks if he is serious. He says that he...

Oh I totally appreciate the value of NV. I just think it's somewhat retarded to drive around with the lights out wearing NVG in any civilian vehicle (on or off road).
