Deuce is Dead - Or so it seems

Basics first: check all battery posts and ground connection. Then measure/confirm each battery's voltage; 12.7 V at least. Edit: Ha, Steve, you typed faster!:-)

    The Novice Deuce

So what... after you bought your first Deuce that level will rise quickly...!;) G. (when I started around Deuces I knew nothing; had no TM's and there was no Forum to ask questions...)

    Whey Oil in Deuce?

Welcome to Steel Soldiers! You probably meant to say way oil... Yes, a Multifuel engine will burn it, as well as hydraulic oils, like your DTE24. The only problem is that the stock fuel system in our Deuces wasn't really designed for much higher viscosity fuels - compared to diesel. So, what...

    Detroit Locker Question

No reason to worry. In your case, driving with locking hubs unlocked (having a diff. locker or not)... 1) there will be no strain at all; 2) the front DS (+ differential gears + axle shafts) will spin all the time, yes. But instead of being driven by the front wheels, at basically the same speed...

Help with firewall and heater box threaded holes...

The "holes" in the first pic are 1/4"-20, as well.

Differences between 6.5 GEP NA and turbo

The answer is no. That kind of work needs to be done with a milling machine, and you better do this after the block was completely stripped, since there will be iron chips and -dust, everywhere and especially inside the oil gallery! As NDT has indicated your #10163726 (N/A)heads will have to...

    Michelin 395/85/20 blowout

I tend to think it's just the opposite. Most tire tech-advisers recommend prolonged storage in a cool, dark place.

I was in TX But they let me go.

Wow, how could such ever happen? Seems like one of the pistons is missing a good chunk, also... or is it just the picture?

    transmission identification help

It should be a SPICER model #6452 (5th direct) behind that Multifuel. Oops, NDT, you typed faster! Edit: I should have said #6352 (thanks, Kenny!)

What is the SAE bell-housing size for the 8.3 and 250?

Sorry Jeff, I don't have a NHC250 bellhousing to compare to. The M939's 6CTA- rear engine mounts are positioned at the same height as well as equidistant, front-to-rear and to center of crank. Hope these two pictures may answer your question...? G.

What is the SAE bell-housing size for the 8.3 and 250?

Below are pictures of the 8.3L bellhousing out of a M939 series truck. 12 bolts on a 18.375" bolt circle is a SAE#2, confirmed. G.

    6.2 Intake Thumping noise help?

Sounds like a sticking exhaust valve... Loosen the injector line nuts, one by one to identify the faulty cylinder. That side rocker arm cover needs to come off. Then inspect that cylinder's parts, looking for anything obvious, like a bent push-rod; broken spring; broken rocker arm shaft; etc...
