Careful, see the number in the fourth column? That is the top stop setting. If you put an injector in an engine with the wrong TS/cam you will damage things or have a giant smoke issue. These things aren't rocket science, but if you use the wrong parts mixed together, you WILL have issues. It...
I also thought of something, a Jake issue can cause this type of failure, but only if it is a mechanical failure of the brake components, like a broken actuator spring, the one that makes the foot that actuates the crosshead, so, that might be something to look at. It takes an arbor press to...
1/2 x 20 thread takes up apx .050 per revolution. 1/4 turn takes apx .012. By adding a quarter turn, .012 is taken out of the total travel of the injection stroke, IIRC the lift is .232, so, if you only allow .220 of lift in a spot that has .232 built into it, it takes a bit of time, but...
If the cam isn't toast...IF...just measure the gasket stack you took off and you can put another cam box on from another engine, new gaskets of course, without having to time it. Sometimes the broken pieces parts will hit the piston skirt. If that happens, the piston and possibly the liner will...
Explain the injector hanging open causing a "mushrooming" ....PT injectors cannot do that, hang open. they are not pintle type injectors. They will break crimps, that is usually caused by an incorrect tune up. too tight of an adjustment, greater than 6 in lbs...no 1/4 turn past zero lash...that...
That it typically what happens when something gets dropped down the push tube cavity, lands on the cam follower and doesn't get fished out.
What winfred posted is it in a nutshell on a fuel knock. Usually accompanied by acrid smelling black smoke.
The system shunts coolant to the lower rad piping/trans cooler in a stat closed situation to have a + coolant flow around the trans cooler so the trans doesn't overheat. Warm climates not so much, but cooler climates it is possible to have the stat closed most of the time and in turn, overheat...
I have 5 of those cans dating from the mid 60s to mid 80s. I used them for diesel when I had my Deuce and still use them for gas for my jeep. They will be fine as long as you don't let water sit in them.
I know of that one too, the issue is, although it looks as it has never been used, the soft parts are gonna be hard as rocks and brittle and if water got in it, the body will be junk. I have contacted the guy, no response as of yet.
Someone PM'd me and asked to see pics. The socket is an 1 1/4...
I fired off an e-mail to Military Tank Parts, thank you for the lead! I have called many in the industry, seems that the carb is a rare bird. The only person that knew about it was the guy that OWNS Stromberg, but he cannot sell the parts, if he had any, the story was amazing! but a real nice...
The engine above was used in the tracks listed above. The engine uses a Stromberg NA-R9G, 2 5/8 inch venturi, updraft carb. Anyone out there have a contact for parts for that carb? I am in need of an inlet strainer and some gaskets and everyone I have tried can't find anything, it s like it...
The issue sounds like a delivery problem and not a carb issue, I never saw it happen. He bought a carb kit from TNJ. Maybe we'll rebuild it since crap came out the bottom and try heat tape or rubber hose around the lines under the hood. He has the stuff to hook the vapor recovery up, maybe we...
A guy I know has an AM General made A2. He took it out to the desert last weekend and after 3 or so hours of trail riding, it started to hesitate and eventually stopped running. He removed the plug on the bottom of the carb and some chunks came out, re started it, drove a bit and it started...
Somewhere I read the compressor was an E type. If you put an air dryer on it you need to put an E type compatible one on or the compressor will turn into a giant oil pump in short order.
Very cool, subscribed to your channel!
Dodge oil pans were/are less capacity, this is so it fits in the truck, glad you got a non Chrysler one. Also, did you build the engine and did what it came out of have an auto trans? The reason for asking is that with an auto trans behind it and using an...
