    Air locker opinions

That shop will be comfortable working on things heavy and bulky and they certainly understand rear ends. There appear to be a few things that ARB is not mentioning. I would at least provide that info to the shop...a random example is that you need to substantially grind out the casting on the...

Anyone heard of Extreme offroad equiptment

Deere, if it is for a Deuce, plenty of people had good success with off-the-shelf mufflers you get at NAPA. Donaldson is quite popular or the glasspack varieties. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?56309-Deuce-muffler-option

    Resurrecting an M108

Redpawn you are a good man. To others, this would simply be "residue". Hm. An M816 with an M900 drivetrain would be nice!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I am not going off-roading, no I won't. Just a little evening drive. On the road. Well, there was this ATV trail underneath the power lines. Just took a little peek. Transfer in LOW, 1st gear. I did not think I would make it back up the hill I went down, but it climbed right up! On dry ground...

    Deuce door windows

I use silicone spray on the felt channels. Non-greasy.

    O/D VS Non O/D

I am curious... When I am heavy, I put the transfer into LOW, start off in 2, shift 2-3-4-5, then go into HIGH and shift 4-5. Seems easier on the clutch. Seems to get going quite easily, even when loaded. The 3052 tranny gives better spacing of the gears but you are effectively neutering your...

    Thermocouple location ,Suggestions or thoughts.

No need to remove anything. Drill with engine idling. The overpressure keeps the filings out that the grease on your drill doesn't catch. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    Looking for help in Denver

Out of curiosity, when you say put "more" money into her, what did you already get fixed? You are getting good advice here already. Says the guy who drove his new acquisition home about 900 miles after a 3 day basic lube, grease and cleanup service. All six axle seals leaked...had no spares...

Balancing the clutch on a deuce?

The advice I received when doing my clutch during an engine swap was "don't even worry about it ". I think you did a good step there; no harm in having a balanced assembly. The holes are of course to lighten the wheel at specific places. They will not affect functionality. Sent from my...

    New m108 Crane Truck Project

That F600 is actually an awesome find. You need to know your steel soldiers to recognize what this is. Very cool. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    Air locker opinions

The axle shafts themselves and the differential gears are not moving side to side, it is the whole axle assembly. So, no, this would not affect a locker. The mechanical lockers simply lock up when power is applied to the driveline and unlock for coasting. People that have mechanical lockers...

    Air locker opinions

Montaillou, your mechanic is wrong! :-) No severe off roading needed. All you need to do is pull over on a highway and sink all three wheels on the passenger side into soft ground, over the hubs . 3 spinning, 3 stopped. Truck leaning over to the passenger side. Game over. Will air lockers save...

Front Spring Set - Repair or Replace?

W/w truck? If yes, it should have two extra leafs. They did not always add them when a truck received a winch later in life. If it was me, I would jack up the front, remove both spring packs and have them repaired and re-arched at a truck/spring shop. I can't tell from the pics with all the...

    Thermocouple location ,Suggestions or thoughts.

If you look into the exhaust manifold you will see that there is a middle divider. If you drill dead center that is what you hit. Look at the turbo gasket...it also shows that divider. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    M35A2 Engine Belts

Example: https://midwestmilitaryequipment.com/compressor-wrench-set-m35a2-multi-fuel-m54-adjust-belt-military/ You can do it without...a pipe wrench or adjustable wrench can also work...but easiest is the wrench set. As for the procedure...the pulley on the air compressor is two halves. The...

Drill and tap off centre above turbo. Easy to do and most useful readings. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

FWIW, I am so happy that Tom made this kit and made me believe that I could actually install it (and I could!). One of the best mods ever for my truck. I put this ahead of power steering and expensive tire upgrades, personally. The quality is outstanding and the driveability is greatly improved.

    GL-1 Gear Oil Alternative

Before we tear shreds off each other, perhaps it is worth asking whether there even exists the one right answer to the question asked about which gear oil is best for the Spicer 3053A transmission. It may well be that there are several options that are not easily distinguished being "better" or...

    Starter Button Bypass

Perhaps this helps: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?99130-Starter-Relay-help You could just get a heavy duty start button from a tractor supply store and hook that up until you get a proper replacement. You can start the truck by shorting the wires but remember that, although the...

Found a Deal on A2 Belts

Yes, jhoot1970, the shop van has the same multifuel engine as the regular M35A2, so the same parts will work. You also get a gold star for resurrecting a long-dead thread! 2012...not bad!
