Thanks again Juan, took me about 1/2 hour and gouging my thin skinned left forearm to remove the heater core. I can see what the issue is, the heater core is installed with sticky backed foam strips on the bottom and top. That simply is inadequate to isolate the road and engine vibration. Once I...
I just had my 2010 rebuilt M936A1 blow the heather core into the cab. Spent hours looking in the TM for a R&R procedure and nothing...thanks for your thread and instructions on the R&R. I guess I'll see how bad it is and try a radiator ship first too.
Sounds like you have a M925 w/w AO. Someone replaced your data plate and/or replaced your cab during a rebuild. There are some strange parts swapping going on with recent rebuilds.
Ray, I see you dumped the NDT 9:00X20s and looks like you have 14.5X20s mounted up as duals? What do you think about singling out and flipping the wheels on the M146. I have MRAPs with 395X85R20s that I'll convert with peashooter's adapters. I have a M932A2 under the M146 as you know it has a...
Just as info, I acquired my M715 here in the peoples republic as a fairly intact non-running truck in rough/fair condition for $1,500. My son and I intentions were to heavily modify with a Keith Black 383 stroker motor running 2.5 ton Rockwells. Stock or modified these trucks will eat you alive...
I have an orignial untouched low mileage M715 Tornado engine and 4spd transmission. I'm located in Atascadeo, CA. PM me if you would like to discuss purchase.
Rosco is spot on. The M931A2 tractors that were equipped with flaps have retention straps where the mud flaps are stored up against the right side deck tool box. Thats where I keep mine when its hooked up to my M146 trailer. During sharp turns or jackknife backing the flap hangers well tangle...
The OEM M931 series mud flap kits are up on flea bay but he's proud of them at $380 + $45 shipping. If you can find a guy with two of the frame extensions you can then pick up a new heavy duty mud flap kit from Ryder Truck. com for about $60 shipped. Get the 3/4" bar hangers.
I'll bet Red River just stuck on the battery relocation box and threw all the remaining parts away. I also acquired a 2010 M923A1 rebuild. The rebuild inventory charged the USA for the battery relocation but I just have the relocation box and my batteries are still under the seat....
Congrats on your score. They are nice trailers. They have a 2" kingpin and the same emergency and service brake glad hands that a civilian truck/tractor has. The axle brakes are air over hydraulic and do not have emergency spring brake pods. A civilian truck/tractor should be able to slide right...
A little unrelated, I have 2 M939s and the door handles on one is a pull down to open, the other is a push up old style. Is there a way to reverse it to the newer pull down style or does it require changing the handle operating system?
You can buy caging bolts at any truck stop that has a retail store or online thru Ryder Truck.com. Do yourself a favor and keep a half dozen in your "recovery kit." Only the rear brake pots "cage", the front brakes will not cage. A "caging socket" is also helpful which is an extra long deep...
