If the shifter is in a forward position, the forward clutch should be engaged and the transmission should be engaged in a forward gear. From a stop, it should be first gear, or second if the controller is not powering the solenoids. Engagement with a jolt when rpm is raised (if that is what is...
Are you saying that it acts like it is neutral and then engages when you give it some throttle? And regarding the incline, is it uphill, downhill or both?

Check out AC Delco part 15557751. You can see applications on O'Reillys website for example. It fits lots of 6.2/6.5 models, also 5.7/7.4 gas applications, probably easy to find in a junkyard.

A silicone oil formulated for low temperature heat transfer (e.g. Dow Syltherm XLT) would address some of the issues, e.g. viscosity and the objectionable odor of some fluids. Still there is a penalty vs. water in heat capacity and thermal conductivity. So it takes more circulation to provide...
If you are concerned the connection is poor under the silicone, then check for voltage drop while cranking. For example, on the positive connection, connect a meter between the positive cable at the battery post and the inside of the passthrough connector or at the starter positive terminal...
I'm working on a M1045A2 rear fender replacement at present, and had trouble finding the various lengths of rivets required. I found Skybolt Aerospace Fasteners online and bought the rivets from them. They have a nicely laid out website, online ordering with credit card, and they stock the...
I sometimes use Rust-Oleum Low Gloss Black Farm and Implement Paint on the underside of HMMWVs. It is easy to spray and has a nice satin finish, very durable.

I wonder if your lifter valley drain is intact and routed to the lower side of the engine near the oil filter. If the tubing is missing or has a hole then the lifter valley would drain into the bellhousing area.

The Chlorox Outdoor Bleach has several surfactants among the ingredients; I think that probably accounts for its good performance compared to the rest. The sodium hydroxide is present only in a small amount and functions mostly as a stabilizer for the hypochlorite, to keep it from decomposing...
Not that I have ever noticed but I keep the exposure short, maybe 10-15 minutes and then scrub and rinse. I have mostly been cleaning tan soft doors lately and they appear to be made of entirely plastic, rubber, and a painted metal frame. Anything with natural organic fibers such as cotton will...
I have tried a lot of products, including doing some head-to-head trials to compare the results. The single best product I have found is Chlorox Outdoor Bleach. It contains sodium hypochlorite, sodium hydroxide and various surfactants. If there is any oil present I hit it with Purple Power first.
Going forward in reverse after "very hard mudding" could be that the forward clutch plates welded together as a result of extreme heat from slipping.

Sometimes a relay will chatter or cycle if the voltage to the coil is low. It's a vicious cycle...relay drops out, voltage rebounds and pulls the coil back in, voltage drops, relay drops out. It could be that there was a period where the low voltage resulted in chattering and damaged a relay...
I have some scraps of edge trim so I tried putting them on a frame with the corner bends mismatched. I works better than I thought it would, although it will still probably require a couple of extra rivets here and there to make it straight along the straight edges, plus the existing holes...
To me it looks like you could make spacers work for the hinge connection to the frame, you would just need the bolts to be long enough (hardware store item or maybe the longer one used on the travel limit bracket in all four spots). The hinges are definitely side-specific. You could cut off...
The TM shows inner bracket 12338194 for variants including M1097, M1097A1, M997, M997A1, M1037 etc. Inner bracket 12446991 is listed for M1123 and a number of A2s. Is there a difference in the two parts, e.g. different drilling pattern, or thickness of the steel?
When diagnosing slipping problems it's good to reference the clutch application chart. Transgo chart attached. If you are not getting any forward gear in any of the forward shifter positions, that points to the forward clutch not engaging. That could be because apply pressure is not being...
