If the bolts that broke were M10.9, then your torque wrench may be somewhat out of calibration. For 57 ft-lbs to have yielded and broken these bolts, the nut factor would have to be down around 0.10, which corresponds to something like a moly lube. If the bolts are plated with certain coatings...
When you say regarding AM General that "they are doing it", that sounds like a current (present tense) activity. Is there a recent letter from AM General "to every state" and is a copy available?
Regarding the federal government, does "they now [emphasis added] state that they have no say or...
There is some information on functionality in patent applications. See thread titled "PCB circuit diagram of KDS controller"

The machine shop should be able to "CC" the heads and determine the chamber sizes. The new head could be cut to match the used one.

Yes it is possible and should take less than a minute of total cranking time. Air needs to be bled out. Start with bleeding the filter on the firewall using the bleed screw on top of the filter until air is bled out. Then slightly crack the nuts on the injector lines at each fuel injector. Crank...
The situation in each state depends on the starting point (i.e. what is in the existing law) plus whatever issues the administrative branch (DMV, state police etc.) and legislators consider important. In KY the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles was supportive but wanted a safety inspection, so...
For a daily driver, fuel injection is nice. Since a 318 fits, I thought of a 318 from a 90s Grand Cherokee with overdrive automatic and transfer case. But it looks like a M37 has the front driveshaft on the right side, so that would eliminate a lot of drivetrain combos unless you swapped the...
The automatic behind a 7.3 is a 4R100, a derivative of a C6/E4OD. It is full electronic shift; they are pretty long, and have an integral bell housing which would require an adapter plate at least to mate it up. They are not bad to work on; I went through one over the winter that had a smoked...
If I had a business affected by this, I would explore whether the legislation and/or its application amounts to a Bill of Attainder, or more properly, since it is not a criminal matter, a Bill of Pains and Penalties, as described here:
This is good in the first paragraph, still resonates even...
I have a M1045A2 with the remote reservoir and pump 12469485, PN 1200359 per the Parts TM. The pump whines pretty loudly, although it has improved after following the bleeding procedure a couple of times. It is not too noticeable in normal driving, but it chatters badly and feels weak when...
Post #1 says the resistance to turning happens "halfway" through a rotation; post #9 says almost a full rotation. To the extent that the crankshaft rotates nearly through a full rotation, that points more to a stuck valve. If it is closer to half a rotation, that points to a cylinder with a...
Hi all,
I have signed us up for the annual July 4 parade in Edgewood KY.
The start location is Caywood Elementrary/Turkeyfoot Middle School as in the past. Assemble at 08:45 for a 09:30 start. I will send along details when I receive them.
Thanks,
Chris
The Luverne brush guard is a pretty neat item. See the thread "luverne brush guard dimensions". If you want to make one and need more dimensions just let me know, it's no problem to do more dimensional takeoffs or post more pictures...
The heater does not have to come out completely. The hoses can stay attached, also the rubber duct on the side that attaches to the body vent. But the four bolts going into the air filter area do have to come out.
