I need to make a set
Can you provide me some dimensions?
How long is the bar?
What is the light spacing?
What are the dimensions of the standoff brackets?
You are correct about the vin inspection. I can be performed by the CHP, only designated officers at selected locations, a or private certified inspector. If you know a local
LEO he can also do most of them. The DMV can do them but usually will only do regular cars. There are some rare...
The first question is are you following the Allison drivers manual? They do not like being driven like a car.
For some reason the military does not set these up the way Allison recommends. A good Allison rebuilder can adjust the trans so it is very smooth. The bad news is on the mechanical...
All they do is verify that the vin on the truck matches the paperwork. This was done to combat stolen vehicles. It is not a true inspection and real easy to get done.
You are correct it is part of the COLA test that you are required to perform every day as part of your pretrip.
I had a full level one inspection about 11 months ago.
The rule of thumb is that if enough air leaks out during lunch to trip the low air warning it is time to find the leak.
Holland makes a replacement top plate for a 2" king pin. I will not be cheap but it is the correct way to convert it to a 2" king pin.
If you put a civilian 2" plate on the frame it will not be so easy to go back to the 3.5".
The frame height on these trucks is a little higher than the...
I contacted both ATC and Four Wheel about making a custom flat bed pop up camper for me. Four Wheel told me no custom units and ATC lost interest in it. One advantage of using a platform larger than a pickup is that you can build it strong enough to survive and the extra weight helps make the...
I think the market would be bigger than you think. Just not the people here. If the camper is designed for off-road use there is a market. The markets would be hunting, outdoors and the overland crowd.
Please post some more information about your ideas.
This is probably the reason.
The brakes probably have never been adjusted correctly or this is the first time the brakes have been inspected.
On the big trucks we set the rear brakes tighter than the front.
You are driving a truck with an Allison.
I downshift as soon as I see the grade, the transmission will only shift when the speed falls enough so that it can with out over revving the engine, this is provided that the transmission is correctly set up.
Driving an Allison is not like driving a...
We do it all the time stay in the right lane and you will be fine. I watch the temperature gauges. Flashers below 45 mph and you will probably get down to about 35 mph. Remember to manually downshift the Allison as it helps keep the speed up and temperature down.
