    Austin Western bed disassembly pics(M108,M62,M246,M819)

Well DH,the only way I could come up with the proper seals myself was call Memphis equip and talk to Ed York in the parts dept, and it still took 6 months to find a few of them for the hoist cylinder. I know 2 of them had to be shipped from Europe. Maybe a local hyd shop could match em up?

    Austin Western bed disassembly pics(M108,M62,M246,M819)

Well Gimpy,I would save ya the inner 2 boom sections, but they aren't safe to use, they have about a 2 inch curve to them over the whole length,no idea how badly they have been overloaded. Just wouldn't feel safe giving or selling them to anyone.

    Austin Western bed disassembly pics(M108,M62,M246,M819)

Actually clinto, the oil reservoir is remotely mounted on a AW boom, usually centered on the bed between the boom base and cab back. The 2 round cylinders in the base are the hyd swivel assmy and the boom hoist cylinder, the hoist cylinder has almost an 8 in bore. The first pic shows the...

    Austin Western bed disassembly pics(M108,M62,M246,M819)

Well folks,Just thought I would post a few pics for those of you that have never seen the AW bed on your Deuce or 5 ton taken apart. Before I get flamed for scrapping it,this boom is really buchered up,lots of torched holes and extra welding done, not even close to being safe to lift ANYTHING...

    North Carolina MV RALLY April 6th, 7th,& 8th 2012

I don’t want to over organize this convoy, but we need to be safe. I was with 3 other trucks coming back from Georgia one year without incident, but we started together, made one stop at a truck stop, then parted ways at our exit. However, we are up to 8-10 trucks and are making numerous stops...

    what do I have here?

I agree with NDT,it is a t-case from a GMC M135 or M211 with the PTO for the front winch mounted to it. Shame that whoever removed it torched the winch driveshaft, they are hard to come by. BTW,if you intend to use the axles under a truck, you will need this t-case,the front axle on a GMC turns...

    m54 replacement engine opitions

LDS vs a 6602 ? No contest, the 6602 will win hands down, except in fuel mileage.

May be looking at another M38a1 - need assistance

Looks like it has the wrong carb, wrong fuel tank, and looks as if the rear body support crossmember has been cut off as well. something doesn't look right with the rear body as well.

    cargo cover folding

I know the manual shows the correct way to fold a CANVAS bed cover(3 pieces) but I wonder if the procedure is different for the vinyl cover(1 piece)? Somewhere on the site I posted the sequence in picture form for a deuce and 5 ton cover.

    North Carolina MV RALLY April 6th, 7th,& 8th 2012

Daybreak? I guess that means I gotta get up early? Being in a convoy of MVs,I doubt the troopers will be in a hurry to come pull them over. I would call and ask Brian, better get there well before 4PM. I was gonna ask,did you want me to pull the M37 behind the 5 ton with the laundry trailer?

    North Carolina MV RALLY April 6th, 7th,& 8th 2012

Well,I wouldn't take a deuce through Sprice pine, that way is VERY hilly and steep. from Johnson City it looks like I-40 to I-26 is the best bet(119 miles),fairly easy grades and very few turns that may be missed while steering, shifting or trying not to lose the rest of the convoy.(been...

    North Carolina MV RALLY April 6th, 7th,& 8th 2012

Mapquest shows 110.3 miles from here to Denton, taking the I-40 to exit 170(hwy 601) route. Or about 2 1/2 hrs or so by MV,there is 1 set of scales we will pass by on the west side of Statesville, and they have been open every day for the last 3 months in both directions( I have been working in...
