Good point about keeping the tank topped off. Nothing "removes" water from fuel, the only thing possible is emulsifying the water and protecting from corrosion. With most ultra low sulfur diesel, a small percentage of biodiesel is added to replace lost lubricity. The problem here is biodiesel...
Somewhat correct. In normal situations, the glow plugs loading the front battery would depress its voltage. When the starter was energized, this voltage depression would be exaggerated as voltage in a lead acid battery is due to electrolyte density (acid "strength"). The front battery would...
Open -34 TM. Appendix E-13. Find fuse box on figure. Upper left hand connections show a diode, possibly Zener on circuit with brown wire #27 (circuit number). My best guess is this component has failed.
Yet another modification for the tactical light system.
Wings in supersonic config, folded all the way back. 33 foot span, give or take a few inches. Dang near doubles in landing, still svelte enough for carrier landings (bravo model)
Don't do it that way. Phase imbalance will cause frequency issues, making the governor hunt excessively. Plus running 240 service at 208 with less current compounds the problem. This is a standard 12 lead stator brushless design. It can be reconnected in either low zig zag or double delta...
TCI :burn:
Basically, it splits the lower ratios with the OD using slightly different ratios. The magic is in the valve body and control computer. Aside from the non-stock planetaries and valve body, it is a 4L80e. Ratios seem perfect for the 6.2 with 4.56:1 axles.
Now to get them to accept...
Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed
Pulled fine stock. Now it won't work well in hills, 50 more ponies under the hood and an extra gear ratio or two would be great. EGTs were under 1000 in third gear. Definitely could use more fuel.
Most importantly, it stops on a dime. Only...
Look at the 2 terminal plastic connector on the back (non drive end) of the alternator. Probe the red wire terminal with a multimeter, putting the other multimeter terminal at the positive terminal of the over charging battery. Measure the voltage. You are looking for faults in this wiring...
Testing out the air horn means I have to recharge the tank..well, the governor interlock is out of whack with the drive gear switch..I flipped the governor on with the transmission in NEUTRAL!!! That made the engine go to 3600 RPM, just for a second..the governor is looking for speed output...
Plumbed and wired the air horn, LOVE IT. 150 dB and a great sound. Got the trailer wiring harness perfected, had to run two more circuits through the 12 pin NATO, then modified a trailer harness to a 7 way RV socket. Tested brakes and 12 volt supply. All directional and lights are as...
Great looking truck. Aside from the size, this is an easy vehicle to work on. The hardest would be a Gamma Goat. They get about the same mileage, I would imagine the 1078 is easier to get inspected for the roads in Germany.
Rattle can also be from transfer pump regulator sticking. I've had this problem recently, added 2 ounces of Diesel Mechanic in a Bottle and the problem went away. It was very loud at 55-60 MPH part throttle (550-600 F EGT) and went away when I floored the skinny pedal.
What happens is the...
