MEP 803A Surging, Not holding frequency

To me it seems to be a fuel delivery problem. Starts to starve, RPM's drop, gets fuel again and over revs causing Hz to drop and then go high. Possibilities in my mind are... - Failing primary fuel pump? - Crap in the tank randomly clogging fuel pickup? - Clogged fuel filter on the primary fuel...

    Inf about Percent Rated Current

The %Load meter is not a voltmeter, instead it's a current meter. It's a 1.0 amp meter at full scale (133%)

MEP-802/803/831 Generator Control & Parameter Monitor by WIFI Demo

Correct, it is set up to be an AP (access point). When a device such as a cell phone connects it is assigned an IP address. Additional devices can connect to it and they are assigned their own unique IP addresses. A WiFi device does not need to be connected to the controller all the time...

MEP-802/803/831 Generator Control & Parameter Monitor by WIFI Demo

I tossed the idea around a bit but haven't done anything concrete as of yet. I know Demoh purchased an cousin of the 803 and it has a RPM controller. Not sure where he stands on possibly reverse engineering that system.

    Canadian military version of mep-803a

Correct, your set does not have the "quad" modification. Definitely something you need to install before attempting to start it. See TB 11-6115-741-24 for the details on how to do the Quad Mod and parts required.

    Canadian military version of mep-803a

The silver box is part of the Arctic Heater. See TB 9-6115-641-13 The cut wires are part of the magnetic pickup sensor for sensing if the generator RPM is >900 RPM after cranking. This is to disengage the starter and flash the field of the genhead when starting the set. Per TM 9-8115-842-24...

    I'm missing a relay

Do NOT bypass the fuse!!!! A bad fuse generally indicates that the voltage regulator is bad (shorted bridge rectifier inside). A couple of hundred dollars to replace. If you BYPASS the fuse AND the voltage regulator is bad it will burn up the quad winding in the generator head requiring a...
