TM -24 has the test procedures for both the sender and the meter. Should be straight forward to narrow it down.
Just curious what the DC voltages at OP gauge terminals I, G & S when it's running and the gauge is at ~0 PSI.
I should be ~ 24VDC, S should be ~ 6.0 VDC at 20 PSI & G should be 0 VDC.
I received the one I ordered that's good for 150 PSI. Tested it with shop air from 20-135 PSI. It's a powered type and has very linear voltage output.
A perfect candidate for my application.
No biggie. Shame on me, I should have done the mechanical gauge check before clicking "Buy It Now".
I can always use them as spares or for repairing other sets in the future.
I just put a mechanical gauge on one of my 831's. Unfortunately the 802/803 sender won't work. aua
Oil Pressure at startup is ~125 PSI and Oil Pressure when warmed up is 80 PSI.
Looks like I have 2 spares senders coming for my 802..
Have a 150PSI sender on it's way to try this weekend.
I use a floor jack to raise the set one end and a time and put a 6x6 block under each skid rail. Once up on the four blocks the dolly can be rolled out and then the set lowered down to the floor.
Looking back at this thread I see I failed to respond to your question.
They were some...
I tried to PM you but your InBox is full. Might want to delete some old messages so you can receive PM's.
Might you have the part numbers for the large oil pressure Senders?
Looking for suggestions for a oil pressure sender (not a switch) for a MEP-831A.
1/8 NPT, reasonably priced, with either a nut/bolt terminal or spade connection.
Resistance of sender not critical.
The readings across CT3, K8-2 to K8-4 & R12 are all suspect. Those voltages are all above the 100% load level.
In the 120/240 single phase setting R13 is connected in parallel to R12 via S8.
Looks like possible a wiring issue to/from R13 and/or S8-14 & S8-13, bad contact closure between S8-13 &...
If the resistance of R10, R11, & R12 check out good then I'd recommend checking the AC voltage across each resistor when running the set under your load.
At 100% load the voltages across R10, R11 & R12 should be ~5.6 VAC.
At 133% load the voltages across R10, R11 & R12 should be ~7.5 VAC.
If...
Guy, I think you were looking at the HT switch and not the OP switch.
Here is what the TM has for OP switch connections.
143C to C
126A to NC
That's how my 802 is wired.
I suspect the set was giving them trouble and they chopped that section of wire harness out to make the set completely inoperable and not easily repaired. Probably then got a replacement genset.
I think you have a typo. Should be ...
Left side 112B, 112A on large terminal 159A on small screw
Right side 109J, 109K on large terminal 158A on small screw
The shunt is just a very low resistance high current resistor.
Current passes thru it when the battery is either charging or...
