Hi
No, I didn't Replace them this time. I did 2 years ago when I replaced the Regulator.
Is there a way I can check the alternator with it out? Maybe at an auto supply store.

Hi
It is a 60 amp. I had replaced the voltage regulator a couple years ago to fix the same problem. I was thinking that it was a good choice. I was wrong. Anyway, the voltage at the regulator with just the starter switch on was 24 volts. Stayed the same with it running. How do I check the...
Today coming home the Generator gage went over into the red and stayed there a couple minutes then dropped down into the green and slowly started to drop lower.
I'm guessing that it stopped putting out voltage to the batteries.
How can I test to see if it's the voltage regulator or the...
Hi
When the engine is cold the solenoid will disengage after one or two turns. Once she is warmed up from either the block heater or from been driven she will start right away .
My thought is that the starter solenoid is the problem.
I hope that this is making sense .

HI
The starter will disengage after a couple of cycles . Each time it will cycle maybe once or three or four times and then disengage. Sometimes it will stay engaged and start the engine. If I have it plugged in a couple hours to warm it up, then she will start right away. When she is all...
Hi
When I try starting her she will turn over but disengage . Sometimes she will stay engage long enough to start . Once she is warmed up she's fine.
Is this a problem with the starter or the solenoid ? Has anyone used a rebuild kit with any luck?
Ken
Hi
I have a 1991 and when I'm driving , I hear a whistling like sound and when the fan kicks in it get's much louder.
I'm thinking It my be something with the fan assembly but what I'm not sure. Belts seem to be tight.
Any ideas?
Ken
Good day
Question, is it normal for the fan belts to bounce up and down when she is running? I have adjusted the tension on them with no change.
Thanks
Ken
Hi everyone
I lucked out. I did have the wiring wrong from the regulator to the alternator. I corrected it and I am now running in the green.
I want to thank everyone for your help. If it wasn't for this forum I would be at a loss several times.
Thanks again
Ken
Hi
I pulled the voltage regulator off. There are 4 spade connectors on this regulator and just three wires from the alternator. I may have installed them to the wrong locations. Is there something showing where these should be connected? I may have to get another regulator. You think I would...
Hi
OK, I adjusted the screw on the voltage regulator and it made no difference in the voltage. I have 24 volts going to the regulator and I am reading 24 volts on the alternator. Could you tell me what the small ring terminal wire on the alternator is for and if it should have any voltage...
