Wait till you break an erection chain on the hammerhead one day and it falls flat on the deck, I remember that being a lot of fun!
I'd forgotten about that particular joy, too. Maybe protective amnesia?
The first time we got to the TM entry to cut some of 4x4 timber to XX" and prop up the...
Hello Mike
My pioneer trailer has a 1982 Southwest Truck Body box on an M116A1 chassis. The chassis seems straight stock. There is a layer of 3/4" plywood between the box and chassis.
There's no direct evidence I can see as to whether the body was installed at the Southwest factory or a...
To paraphrase Mark Twain's 19th century observation on lawyers, "What do you call 10,000 M901s at the bottom of the ocean?.....A good start!"
Combst32 has obviously spent some time around the pigs.
Too top heavy and slow to keep up with the M113s, unable to hack the rough terrain and track...
If someone need instructions, my son and I have three heaters between us. I could copy one set and send them as an attachment or by snail mail. They are for the 20K BTU heater but should be very similar.
I should probably forward a copy, in electrons, to Mangus for the library.

If you can get to shows or rallys or can coordinate with a buddy to do the same, you'll find them at pretty good prices.
In the last year I've bought a 20' two pin for $20, a 20' NATO for $25 and a 50' NATO for $90.
I've got two sons in the hobby and we like to have a cable in each vehicle so...
If the set is in a acoustic suppression kit (ASK), don't go by what the plate on the kit shows. The same kit will go on all three gen set types. You'll need to find the set data plate or do some homework.
Check these links for more info. Hope this helps.

The thought hits me that CA has some rules that are different from many other states. Maybe you want to re-title this thread or start a new one specifically asking the same question in reference to CA.

If the acceptance or delivery date is not on the data plate, the closest you'll may get is to look at the DLA contract number. The 7th and 8th characters are the date of the contract. Of course, contracts run over into new years and some contracts take years to fill but it's as close as you're...
Lets see...with 2 sons who are into MVs it gets harder to decide what to bring and what to keep up on the pallet rack. That I've already decided on, I'm bringing:
NOS in the crate immersion heaters
20K BTU multi-fuel heater (only 10 hours on it)
beer
NOS 35K BTU convective tent heater
fuel can...
We've been driving the deuce we're planning on taking to Aberdeen to find and get rid of any bugs.
An hour ago the truck acted like a brake was frozen when it started to move from a parking spot. The truck began to move only very reluctantly and as soon as the clutch was stepped on it rolled...
Hey Eric, I turned wrenches on those pigs for 4 years. If you need some help or get into a bind, call me. I was the motor sergeant to a whole herd of Goats. D8Dave has one in Baldwinsville, too.
Somehow I noticed that Dave's has a lot less clearance to get into the driver's seat than the...
I did one of mine with two spring bases and M1009 buckets. The bases were $20 from Coleman's.
The CUCV bucket's mounting holes are spaced wider and further from front to rear than the spring base. The M1009 seat's rear holes, when lined up with the rear holes of the spring base, are a good...
I have the "Tee" handle M1 tank style tool. I've never used it with the engine running. I break the lugs loose with a Swench manual impact wrench or a long handled 3/4" ratchet wrench. I've never used it to do more than one or two wheels so I can't speak to running the battery down.
I take...
The M1009's pintle hitch is no where near strong enough for that job, with or without trailer brakes.
An M1028 is rated for 3,000 pounds towing capacity based on the M101 style trailers it was intended to tow. The weight of another truck and trailer are way past what the hitch and driveline...
A while back I bought an M35A2 from GL that had a locally fabricated cab roof rack on it.
The rear was well supported with angle iron legs bolted to the cab. The rack was less than the width of the cab and didn't extend forward to the front of the cab. At the front of the rack it was bolted...
It has a 5 speed automatic transmission. It shifts a little hard going from first to second and depending on how you are braking it down shifts to first with quite a thump. I'm guessing that's because first is geared so low.
It's pretty spry with all the power it's got and no trailer but...
UPDATE: After two trips to Drum, Doghead, My oldest son, Chris, and I got the truck off Drum today and here to the farm. We beat the GL removal default deadline by a day.
Doghead and I never seem to bother to stop working to take pictures so please spare me the "This thread is worthless"...
