It looked like really BAD junk when we got it (the International Harvester) out of the river believe me. That picture of it (restored) on the back of my half track transporter (Beer truck) Is after more than 4 years of serious restoration work.
It had nothing from the floor up, and we made...
That was an amazing, and fortunate 'find'.
Progress looks fantastic so far. Years ago I knew of a halftrack (M9) in a river near a power station. Nagged the owner for two years with no luck,
Then out of the blue he rang me saying the power company were excavating that site within a week.
So, IF...
Interesting, My M62 wrecker has a waste gate turbo, and it sounds absolutely fantastic when changing up gears.
We all know how awesome our vehicles can be.....So...

Our troop drivers used (to be ordered) to drive at night in the Lybian desert using Only blackout lights.
That is until one night a senior officer stopped a convoy to camp and to take a leak in a near-to 'ditch/hole'. At dawn camp broke, and the 'sir was invited to look at the 'ditch, hole' ...
P.S.
Addendum. The mesh filter 'lives' just inside the union? where the fuel supply goes into the base of the injector pump. (i am not referring to the in tank pump mesh.( OR am I?)) I will check that as well today,....and,..duly report back.
Well it actually 'feels' (seems) like something is sucked up, or vacuum crimps under suction..('cept the fuel supply is under pressure).
I am going to check the intake directly at the pump..as I recall from memories past there is a filter (brass) mesh? at that point.
I will check this theory...
Looks?...Test it (the bulb) and you may have no need to go any further. If it is good the check the power cable to it..and see if a hand held bulb lights at the earthing point. (under the bracket). If yes earth the assembly properly. (clean all contact between assemblies).
The mayor from a local town had seen our trucks at a street carnival this year.
He thought they would make great 'street blockers' for their local Christmas vintage weekend.
So, I agreed to supply four trucks, and set off early evening with the fire truck, a deuce, a jeep, and a dodge.
Halfway...
That problem could be a 'collapsing' fuel line (suction/rubber hose)'
Also known is 'something sucked into the intake line, and drops back when the engine stops.
That append to us on two different Chevy Cheyennes.
I use the rear glad hand (the red emergency one) and also have a 1/2 bsp connector from the bottom air tank. (which also powers the air mast.) Both work fine, but the 'monster' 3/4 drive air impact carried for wheel changes runs (OK) from the rear gladhand.
Don't use the front gladhand as it is...
That M715 is well worth getting for a restoration project. If was over here I would bid 2-3K for it.
But then they are as rare as 'rocking horse poo' over here.
We just sold ours with a non standard engine in it for 7 1/2 K.
I have had the problem with original electronic turn signal units going faulty. And have found Three PIN 24 volt flasher units work just fine. (from -bay). These work on U.S. Older military trucks as the flasher circuit unit (unlike most other vehicles) Is simply an 'interrupter'. on a single...
When military personnel and equipment is used in an overseas deployment, (All forces).
Vehicles and equipment is sold of to Local disposal agents If not economically viable to ship it all back to the country of origin. And if The government of origin applicable deems the receiving civilian...
That advice is really sound. And is what should be done in your case.
Take care 'arrive alive' is the motto here. And would be very much less worrisome for all concerned.
I moved home twice with my trucks, and it was tiresome in the extreme, Especially so when Murphy follows you part way!.
Good...
Thank you for posting some excellent pictures. I really like that trailer and the multi wheeled dolly. I had, but never used a dolly like that (8 wheels) for use with my ex-RAF recovery trailer. The wrecker trailer and that dolly made a really good display unit.
Rusty said it all.
(And) In the U.K. testers do not 'smash' the pedal to the floor, and rev the nuts out of an engine. and especially on diesel cars. As this has been known to snap cam belts!.
Old and historic Vehicles (All types) are exempt testing.
The situation he has placed himself in does not bode thinking about. And if he has family they must be (and will be) devastated. If only this totally avoidable incident acts as a deterrent.
