Will am I crazy or did I read that the voltage for opening the solenoid was 24v as you are cranking but drops to 12v once the engine is running? Wouldn't that allow just one battery to cause the problem?
Don't burn it! Keep it with the truck or go by a military museum and donate it these types of things are almost always lost to time or trashed. It probably is not of any value to an enemy and will be a neat little bit of history. If you are worried about the classification take a few pictures...
Duh yes I know the wire from the + on front goes to negative on rear battery but if you look where I said at the ground or the - sign on the front battery there is a red wire going somewhere.
Hey John I know you aren't a newbie but have you tried slaving it off? Just a thought but the batteries could have gone bad as it cranked over the first time.
Make sure the rear pto next to the door is disengaged and locked in position then check the little valve that engages the air. Sounds like one of them moved or failed.
Not 100% but I want to put the bigger tires and 10 bolt wheels on a couple of my trailers. I am looking at changing the hubs, not sure but hopefully the spindle will be the same size so I can keep the axles.
Seeetk30 if you would read the -10 please, I would answer most anything else you might need clarification on by phone if you wanted. It really is a good read for anyone who has the green fever. And what's cool you can skip around and it won't screw-up the ending. If not at least read the data...
Now offroad I will say they work well if you air down and know how to drive. I have driven a M35a2c in a mud bog and walked right past where most of the big boy unlimited class got stuck, so I believe that they work well off road
Now as to the road safety there is no comparison between the two if both are new and in good condition the newer squared off tires work much better wet or dry.
I will say this I never had a NDT just sitting there blowout I have seen and heard many of the "new" tires do just that. I'm not sure if this is because of the bias vs radial design or the older tires were just built better but I aired up a set on a 1953 that had been setting for more than 20...
Welcome to the wheelie club we have a thread for that. Never said it could be bent without the outriggers down. With the outriggers down you can bend it real quick.
Okay the boom certification is only 10,000 lbs and I have watched and helped do one. I have the procedure floating around here somewhere the boom max lift is 20,000 with the legs.
I have seen at least 6 booms bent and all bent right at the rams. The front of the truck will lift if you pull to...
