I tried 10# and 22# struts and the later was perfect. It should have enough to lift both lids once I connect them with a strap or something.

I picked up a PVAB for $25 awhile back. I figured I could make a potato launcher or something out of it if it was missing bits, but after cleaning up the valves and installing a new set of batteries I aired it up everything works. Best I can tell, it is complete..
The only thing missing was...
I converted mine into a beer cooler:
Replaced the latches with ss hinges across the back
Installed two rubber tie downs for the front
Added a set of gas struts to hold the lid up
Trimmed down three of the baskets to use as supports
Cut a piece of clear fridge shelf material from Home Depot and...
My GSD was a washout LEO K9. Too prey driven and highly aggressive to other animals (squirrels, cats, dogs, horse....straight for the throat). People get too bitchy when she runs off with one of the loose dogs (illegal, btw) in her jaws shacking them till their widdle necks snap.
I don't go...
Oh, don't get me started on water in a trans. He's my parts truck (that I was planning on fixing up). Oddly, this was NOT from radiator cross contamination. Best I can figure is they forded it with the plug out.

I'd relocate the sample port before shelling out several hundred bucks on a longer hose. I'm a rebel like that (ok, I'm poor but still).
Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into if it will be wise to delete the front cooler. I can't think of any reason not to especially given that it's...
Not to hijack, but I wonder if this is what I picked up. I can't find a better image, but my cooler is BAE (it could have come from anything).
Been contracted since '94 it appears...

5-ton the same as 2.5? I know some of the 5-tons had the aux cooler but what I'm ignorant of is if they also included the forward cooler. I'm wondering if I really need both coolers (the aux I'm adding is a MONSTER twice the size of what they put on the 5-tons.
I'm somewhat surprised to hear...
Yep, as long as the "hard parts" (ie: not clutches, seals but the shiny big metal bits the turn and grind) are not damaged, it's rebuildable to a shop. Of course the auto trans shops will always find hard part "damage" they can show you (they have piles of them that they will tell you came from...
Well, after some road time daily driving (my M1079 is my daily) and some highway time I'm pleased with the seats. The foam is a bit stiffer but the seats have ample "spring" to them (the A1R seats honestly are equally as comfortable, but I really wanted armrests).
I'd seen these seats used and...
I've seen people on here adopt the dips for high speed gears, but not setting up a (non-OEM?) speedo.
You might dig up some of those threads to see if helpful.
I picked up this big bastard last month. BAE contracted it and I don't know what it was out of, but I think I may stuff it in my frame. It's NOS and cost me $50 but the bungs for the lines are 1.25" so I'll have to step down a hair, heh. It's 36" x 20" x 9" (with a 3" core)...
