Ohhh, Dude...that is sooo wrong....
I don't think I could sleep without doing my best to get you out of this jam. I just couldn't leave a brother SSer with those nasty things bolted to his truck.
I'm gonna go plow a path to the shop and load up some 9.00-20s. Relax, breath deep, it'll be OK...
No progress, unless thinking and asking questions is progress. This whole thing reminds me of the old joke about "How do you cook an elephant?"
I'm closing in on finalizing what I want to do. My current intent is to:
Put an M105 bed or shortened deuce bed on an M818 and shorten the frame as...
The screw is a black plastic critter, probably 1/2-5/8" across with a cross shaped indent in it for the screwdriver. It's on the fuel filter base. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Has anyone used an M809 series front axle for a rear steering axle under a bobbed M809 truck?
I'm tinkering with the idea of sticking one under the rear and am looking for info or input on axle capacity and spring options.
Does anyone know if the rated capacity of the axle is due to inherent...
"I wonder who wants a 009 with a solid frame and a finicky engine"
I might, but first, I'd agree with Mike.
Have you put a new fuel filter on it lately? Check the bleeder screw in the filter base. Get a helper, crank the engine with the screw open until you get a good stream of fuel, close...
Geez, I'm looking in both the -20 and the -34 for info on servicing the locking hubs for M1008s and M1009s. Either I'm denser than usual or it's not there.
Can someone please throw an old dog a bone and point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Lance
Well folks it's New Year's Eve and I'd like to wish everybody a safe and happy new year....
It's getting closer to this show. We'll be arriving on 27Jan and returning 1FEB. If anyone needs something hauled between central NY and the show, or back, speak up. The current plan is to take 2...
Anybody got the NAPA part #?
Westfolk, judging from that avatar, your from da Bronx and you're over on the Jersey Palisades tipping some toxic waste, right?

The "old Army Trick" could have done in lots of things but I doubt it hurt the glow plugs. I'd lean more towards ignorance maybe having led to starting the truck without waiting for the glow plugs to cycle and frying them that way.
A resistance check will tell the tale.
BTW, I often point out...
I've got one. I don't intend to let it go but, let me check the "Resources" section. If there isn't one there, I'll put it in the document feeder, digitize it, and fly it over to MANGUS to post it up.
If you need something specific and can point me in the right direction, toss me and I'll try...
Don't confuse Picitinny Arsenal with the NJARNG maintenance facility. At the NG facility you just walk in and tell them why you're there. At the Arsenal you go through the standard deal of getting onto a restricted active military facility.
The NG facility won't show up on GLs or Mapquests...
OK, I didn't think it was a motor mount because I'd eyeballed the engine, from above and from in front of it, while the clutch was let out and didn't see abnormal movement.
So, we moved the truck to a flat part of the driveway and I lay under it while my son let the clutch out (communicating by...
Mark- We've got an M1009 to pick up there. We're awaiting the EUC and will likely use the gooseneck so space and weight are not an issue.
I'll let you Know when we hear something. I don't think we're going to the Jim Thorpe or NJ shows.
The FIG Battle of the Bulge reenactment and Aberdeen...
OK, I'll do that tomorrow. On a cursory inspection, laying under the truck while the #1 Son let out he clutch, I didn't see anything , but it certainly wasn't a thorough inspection.
Thanks
EDIT: Wouldn't a motor mount make the engine twist the same in forward or reverse gears? The torque on...
