4l80e stand alone controller wiring harness

I got really screwed by tci. Get the US shift controller it is much better and easier. My install was adding a 4l80e to the 6.2 in my 1009, not a HMMWV. TCI is crap, don't waste your money

    Snorkel size for 1009

No luck so far with a 4 inch snorkel head. I have lots of other things to do so I am still searching but it goes from 3.5 to 5 inch. cant find anything between those. current state of motor refresh; head bolts are replaced and valve covers painted and re-installed. I am waiting on the IP and...

    Radiator spectra CU850

I tried to order from summit and got a back order and it was showing 3 to 4 weeks. I canceled the order. I then decided I wanted one from a shop I could return it to and hopefully grab another one the same day so I went to the recommended Auto zone where they were able to pull it up on the...

    Radiator spectra CU850

There are no more shops left that re-core radiators unless they are industrial and that is even getting hard to find. I found one in Houston that would touch mine and their labor rates to re-core because they were industrial would have cost about $1000. They kindly cleaned mine and tested for...

    Radiator spectra CU850

Just passing along my experience here. I am refreshing my 1009 motor and had the radiator out and wanted it cleaned. Finally found one place left in Houston that would clean it and test it and of course it was bad after cleaning. Cost to repair is more than new. In preparation for the...

    Snorkel size for 1009

So far no luck on ram air heads with 4 inch pipe. Donaldson's website shows 6 inch the smallest they have. The pre-cleaners are going to be to large for the cfm needs. I will have a semi pre-cleaner in the fender. The fender duct will be much larger than the down pipe and the pipe that connects...

    Snorkel size for 1009

found many other calculators and all range from 600 to 1000 on the high side. The pre-cleaners for this much air flow are to large. I think I have to go back to looking at snorkel heads with 4 inch pipe.

    Snorkel size for 1009

http://www.widman.biz/English/Calculators/CFM.html For those interested in this thread, I found this calculator to find CFM of the 6.2 liter engine with a turbo. It appears that the max CFM is close to 1000. trying to find some other info or calculators to confirm.

    Snorkel size for 1009

I plan to weld the exterior portion of the snorkel to the fender. Behind the hood hinge there is a little over one inch wide by 8 inch gap that when boxed out is much larger than a 4 inch tube. Using some pretty thin sheetmetal and JB weld the inside of the fender will have an inner skin...

    Snorkel size for 1009

I was planning on a Donaldson scoop but had looked at the 'top spin' also. The top spin looks ok and performance would be better than scoop. I plan to use metal exhaust pipe which will connect to the fender right in front of the door. The inside of the fender will be encapsulated with an exit...

    Snorkel size for 1009

I am building my snorkel and I have been shopping heads. My pipe will be metal. I am trying to determine the size. 3.5 probably looks best. 4 inch looks a little large. and 3 inch a little small. The total length to the air filter box is about 7ft. I am installing a banks turbo with banks air...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

spring cleaning: I am in the process of: changing water pump, rebuilding injection pump, new injectors, new return lines, all new hoses and thermostat, new head bolts, getting radiator serviced, adding trans cooler, adding power steering cooler, installing ORD high clearance cross member, ORD...

cucv mirror mount for cb antenna and cube lights

I am aware of the grounding issues. I ran grounds to the door, and the mount. under the screws it is shiny. There is a ground wire that connects, the cb mount itself to a ground wire to the chasis, one from the door itself and another to the antenna mount itself outside the door. The antenna...

Zero Rates on Front of 1009?

it does not work forward with cross over high steer either. the pitman arm hits the tie rod. I had mine forward an inch and had to move it back. I have d60 and 14 bolt

cucv mirror mount for cb antenna and cube lights

you can shake the truck with the mount. It does not budge. Hopefully it will last and if not, I will fix it. I plan to run the snorkel through the fender. it will exit at the window post but I will use fiberglass to box out the inside of the fender. it will exit the fender under the hood...

cucv mirror mount for cb antenna and cube lights

have not purchased the lights yet, I got sidetracked. I am currently doing the IP, injectors, fan clutch, water pump, radiator, new hoses, head studs, and banks turbo with a snorkel. It may be a little while before I get the lights. I am just happy I finished my cb install.

cucv mirror mount for cb antenna and cube lights

I built a mount for my cb antenna and a small led cube light. I made one for the drivers side also but have not finished it yet. I still have to buy the lights so I won't install it until I get them. They will be powder coated or painted to match the truck. And the antenna is getting a 4...

    brake drums wobbling

My 1008 axles from gl had all four hubs bad. I think they dropped it from pretty high with a fork lift. I replaced the fronts and did the disc conversion on the back. I spent a lot of time trying to find the problem in tires and wheels and the whole time it was hubs.

M1009 with six inch lift and 35s

you have to do everything to go bigger than 35 and be a reliable trail rig. If it is a grocery getter then you can cut a lot of corners. that includes a 1 ton axle swap, springs, shackle flip, cross over steering, 205 t-case (I used an ord magnum for an adaptor). CV joint outputs front and rear...
