    m1031 transmission swap ??

I believe you are going to be disappointed with any overdrive tranny (700 or 4l80e) if you plan to use the rig as a tow rig. You must first consider the horsepower you have available and the top speed you will be able to achieve with it. If you want to tow anything substantial (5000 lb or...

Trimming advice / pattern for 35"??

in stock form the only problem with the blazer and wheeling is the steering. The only way to fix the steering is do a 4 inch lift for cross over steering. With a 4 inch lift you can fit just about any 37 or less tire with mild trimming. The only downside to a full size truck over a jeep or...

Which 2wd Steering box for Crossover Steering?

I believe the boxes are the same. check out PSC. you may want to get a box that is already ported for hydro assist.

    Higher Volume PS Pump?

PSC motor sports The parts ORD sells for pumps, gear boxes and slave cylinders are from PSC you can get the high volume pump from ORD or go direct to www.pscmotorsports.com The pump requires a remote reservoir which is needed because you need more fluid volume also. I had to mount the pump and...

M1009 4inch Lift - Tires Wheels Bolt Pattern Offset???

Without changing axles, I would do a 3 inch lift with the ord super flex springs and 33 inch x 12.5 wide tires which will fit the stock wheels if you want to keep them to save some money. Spend the money saved on cross over steering and you will be able to get the most out of the 10 bolt...

    6L80 Transmission??

everything from tci is a piece of crap. find another vendor for trans computers. I have the 4l80e and you really do not need any more gears. The horsepower available in the 6.2 will not be enough to use the last two gears. I can barely use 4th in the 4l80e, when it hits an overpass on the...

Factory Original Gauge Cluster with Tachometer?

I kept all of the original sending units, just added new ones for the gauges. I wired all of the idiot lights so that any of the sending units can turn the check engine light on. This helps because you do not always pay attention to the gauge

Factory Original Gauge Cluster with Tachometer?

lights in gauges I made the lights in the bottom of the gauge the check engine light,4x4 and gen1 and 2 lights. When you switch to gauges you loose the gen one and two so you have to put them somewhere. you can cut the existing filters and use them for the lights in the gauges. The fuel...

any blazer body will do, you can swap your door and the dash mounting plate can be moved. other than that they are the same.

    My M1009, what to do...

I highly agree with the body swap approach for this vehicle. If it were me I would pull the body off and spend my time on the frame and drive train while you shop for a body. The one you have is to far gone in my opinion. You can keep the body for some practice if you want prior to scrapping...

    Realign steering wheel after lifting

you can not adjust the steering wheel in the column. the wheel is keyed to the shaft via the interanal parts and the horn button. you must do by dropping the pitman arm and resetting on the steering box if you do not have enough adjustment in the tie rod ends and steering link.

One hub was locked, any long term issues?

As long as your t-case had fluid you should be fine. If you have grease certs on the u-joints and axle shafts you will want to be sure they are lubed. you just gave a few parts some extra wear and tear but nothing should be hurt.

M1008 wiring for dummies, what am I missing here

you want your starter wire and battery wire on top of each other (under same stud) you can turn the ends opposite of each other and they will lay flat. of course clean connectors and use small amount of electric grease. The rear bus and slave connection should also be under the same stud and on...

Factory Original Gauge Cluster with Tachometer?

gauge cluster I was the poster of the cluster thread. your gauges are not the same as mine and the circuit board will be different. I also had some errors on my schematic that did not get corrected. I do plan to pull It apart again in the future but until I do I cannot correct the...

Buying a M1009, would like some second opinions.

Rust free is hard to find, that will bring a premium on a stock cucv today. I paid 3200 for mine in 2011. GL truck, drove from tx to Barstow to get it. It was rust free but unfortunately it got beat up by the GL forklifts. So after the body work and $1k to pick it up, I had $5k in mine. I...

    Fender tire clearance options/ideas

Fender hack here is a few more pics of my hack job The inner fender is removed before cutting. once the fender is cut I installed the inner fender from front to back and then cut the back of the fender with wheel so that the last two inner fender bolts go back into their original holes.

    Fender tire clearance options/ideas

fender modification there is a lot of room in the back of the front fender. I cut mine and re-attached it. It flares the bottom of the fender about an inch and a half. It moves the back of the fender toward the driver adding about 4 inches of clearance. I have 4inch front springs with zero...
