    There is an early and late style bracket....late one has slotted holes to raise it for trailer hook up.

    The newer black one has a totally different latching part for the section that you pull out. I had some small towbar feet machined down to fit the Hmmwv towbar.

    Question about NP-218 and NP-242 transfer case swap

    Two different 242's can be used. Early has a 3 bolt tail shaft, late has a 4 bolt tail shaft. Early has a small slip yoke, late has a larger slip yoke rear drive shaft.

    . Tighten locknuts to 85 lb-ft (115 N.m}in tightening sequence shown , then Tighten locknuts to 110 lb-ft (149 N.m}in tightening sequence shown .
