Is it just me or do you have both front brake shoes on the right side? I see the front brake shoes are mounted on the right axle. The short shoes with the lesser brake lining always goes toward the front of the truck. Check it out. I may be seeing things but it appears the shoes lining are the...
Unclear on your question. What you are showing is an after market fuel filter. All I see is that the stock Stanadyne box fuel filter assembly has been replaced with something different then original. Should be the same as long as it is plumbed correctly and has the internal heater and water...
The key code for the U.S. CUCV is 73Y2
If you go to a lock smith they will use the B blank GM key to cut you a fresh key from the code. The key code for the U.S. CUCV is 73Y2
I hope that helps. Round head is as original but the rectangular head works the same. Most fleet, taxi, police of the...
No need to get fancy and spend the big money. These pumps were the same for many years.
Endurance Power Steering Pump 7068 (autozone.com)
This will get you the basic rebuilt pump and it will work great for many years. At least that has been my experience. Warranted for ever.
Duralast New...
Try the motor before the switch. That wiper switch is doable and it can be done. But the entire column must come out. I out lined that switch replacement in my Decade Wrecked thread a few years back. On the bench and out of the truck or you will go crazy.
I have a set of 3:73 gears here out of a 1990 K5 Blazer. You will need 30 spline axles for the rear. I have the complete front axle and the complete rear apart minus the 30 spline axles. Sweet deal on them. It has an Eaton locker.
May I suggest just looking in a salvage yard for a civilian 6.2 diesel vehicle that had A/C. Below I pictured an M1010 engine from a quick image search.
As I recall and that is a long time ago. The civilian trucks had the same brackets.
This was a quick Google search to refresh my memory but...
Tonight was a short night. I came home and put away all the tools and cleaned up a few messes in the shop. I had several projects I completed in the past week. I also had many CUCV parts setting around that needed to be put away in storage. I had a CUCV oil pan and an intake that I have been...
May I also add to drop the tank and replace the fuel tank sock and sending unit it is not working accurately. Then moving forward on the fuel system replace all the hoses and clamps and replace the lift pump. Get the right size clamps. I see clamps that are for 5/8" heater hose compressed to...
Brave soul saved himself a few bucks and fixed that darn loose tie rod end with a clamp he had setting around. God bless him. That is just down right genius and repurposing at it's best. Gotta Love it.
Have you ever pressure tested the cooling system? Is it possible that a slight head gasket leak is making a noise. I mean I had them that the head gasket had a weak spot at the compression ring. My issue with diagnosis on this truck is that so many things were done to it and so many things...
My experience has been the throttle shaft seals are a band-aid on the real issue. The real issue is the entire injection is in need of rebuilding. I see this dance around the injection pump many times. Just do it go over the entire fuel system right up front and move on for many miles to come...
To each his own. Kids are great. They grow up fast and move on. Later more come and they are the ones to try and spoil. Good Luck. It looks great and I am picky. All stock look isn't for everyone. Nice job. What paint did you use?
Drivers door same song and dance. I dug and ground out all the seam sealer on the edges and thoroughly inspected the seams. They are clean doors considering this M1009 was built in 8/83 that makes it 38 years old. Not bad. I also think it has a very low production number and it had chrome...
I started with the right door. Only because it was the closest one. I made a nice soft surface to set the door down so I could spin it and sand it from 1 side. Harbor Freight blankets. The bottom edge. I was done with that and sanded the entire inside and window frame. Onto the left door. 2...
