for my re-centered hummer rims from TWF I used the H1 balancers but not the ones shown on the website, they had the flat plate not the one with the bevel as shown on the website.
they look just like the ones you have skinny but have the larger ring with more weight. I had to take the first ones...
I upgraded my rear drums to disc. I did not want to use the expensive, sometimes troublesome cadilac brakes with the built in parking brake. I used the standard small piston calipers without the parking brake so I would not have a cable at the rear wheel to get hung up while wheeling. I want...
What you are suggesting already exist in the CUCV Stickies. It is the very top post. Search through this post and if there are any common parts that you find missing then start a new post and people will help fill in the needed info. Once the post is deemed appropriate for the sticky, one of...
I second the pvc inserts if you do not have hutchinsons. TWF pvc inserts are high quality. hutchinsons are flexible and easier to get installed, but cost more.
I would run steel spacers if you can get them. Or just check the aluminum ones for torque often until you are comfortable with them...
I do not have the PTO option on my 205. My drive shaft brake is on the rear output. My rear output is a CV style flange and not a U-joint. The rotor for the brake had to be made and then welded to the flange. The manufacturer for the brake does not have a rotor to fit the cv flange so I made...
I believe I am going to just get some 2 degree shims and use them to test it before I mill my zero rates.
They can be removed if they do not work.
I checked on line about grinding my cv joint to get a little more angle out of it and I will do this if needed.
What I was feeling as far as...
I sold the TWF rims with new good year MT's because I was warned by my mechanic and other locals here that they were quick to check them around here.
I now have Hutchinson Aluminum GM bead locks (from border patrol vehicles)
They have the DOT stamp and I am using the Hutchinson bead locks that...
I finally got the chance to take some actual measurements of my drive line angles using a torpedo level and speed square.
My front steering knuckles have 9 degrees angle up towards the front.
My front pinion angle is 5 degrees up toward the t-case. With each degree of shim the pinion will...
I would love to buy your 20 inch rims but here in Texas I have the same problem with them as I did with My TWF recentered hummer rims. They are not DOT approved. Once the rims have been altered the DOT stamp on them is worthless. In many states and in local areas, you will never get checked...
I made an extension for my existing cable but I do not like it. Not confident it will hold. The cable has some pretty good stress with your foot setting it. I wish the eye that you run the cable through had a roller on it.
I am considering buying one of their cables. I have it out of the...
if you plan to keep your truck forever it might be. If you change your oil yourself it makes it worth it in convenience.
I think adding and extra oil cooler does you best for capacity and change it ever 3 to 5 k max and you will be fine.
I spent the money on my duramax but made it up by...
yes, I am trying to reduce the angle on the U-joint at the front axle. Have front and rear axles with cv at the t-case. rear axle is ok. front angle could be better but does work. I roughly measured it with a T-square and 4 to 6 degrees would probably get it as strait as the rear axle.
just...
It is not the same with a cv joint and u-joint. The cv joint or 'constant velocity' joint does not speed up and slow down like a highly angled u-joint. You will only get that in the u-joint that is at the differential and it gets worse with more angle. Thus that is why I am trying to shim my...
while looking on the Amsoil site to see if they supported the 6.2 J code engine and it appears they do. found this:
1984 GMC TRUCKS K2500 4WD HD PICKUP 6.2L 8-cyl Engine Code [J] Diesel
LUBRICANTS...

I had one similar to this on my duramax. 225,000 miles before I was t-boned and the truck gone. I used amsoil since I got the truck...
I believe it would require 2. one for the 24V and one for the 12V. Not sure you could do it by just disconnecting a neg. or just one Pos. wire.
check marine disconnects, You can prob. find a 24v that will carry enough amps.
Best theft switch is disconnecting the power wire to the IP.
