modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

I thought combination valves were more for a disc/drum setup? We're (well I am) keeping drums all around. And I I think these MC's are 60/40. (I'll have to go look again) So we'd actually want the 60 to the rears and 40 to the front. Due to the extra volume. I could be completely wrong...

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

Man, seeing all the work to make the bracket work, I'm 100% going firewall mount.

How rare are M54s vs M35s?

If I were to buy another large MV, I think it'd be a M54A2. Because it would be affordable to operate still with the LDS. But it would have power steering.

    Spin on filter adapter measurements

I really haven't had any intention to do that. There's plenty of people out there with them on the shelves ready to ship. Honestly If I'm in these for $140. I'm not sure how they're making much of a profit on them at $200 shipped. I guess if I had ordered more material in volume it would...

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

Since it's metal, is there the four mounting holes for the resv. to the MC body like mine? You could make a metal lid and secure it down with all thread all the way through maybe? (You'd need sealing washers on the inside of the resv). Or maybe just remove it completely and make a plate to...

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

Yes, same one. But mine was in a very old napa united box. I think they went to the "tupperware" design reservoirs later on.

    Spin on filter adapter measurements

Go ahead and get one. Buying a couple of lathes, mills, and a tractor have been some of the best "frivolous" purchases I've made. I'm not a master by any means. But I get by with them. Lotta reading and watching youtube for me lol.

The master cylinder showed up today. Doesn't match the photo. But I like this style better. Looks to have 2-3/8 of piston stroke. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

I haven't been able to find anything like that? I did find this though, which is a hydraulic over air valve which would allow proportioning the air. https://www.mico.com/sites/default/files/document-pdfs/80460051Hydraulic%20Over%20Air%20Relay%20Valves.pdf I found a link on google under...

    Spin on filter adapter measurements

Found this diagram for the spin on filter adapters made out of sheetmetal. Probably not that helpful, but it does give you specs on the key measurements. You can modify your adapter from there. I used 5" OD 6061 for the adapter plate. It's basically a cup on the underside of it. With a...

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

That is what I thought as well. I mean, on tractors you also have the trailer brake control valve on the column to allow you to modulate the rear brakes. It just seems like full apply on any braking could lead to some unsafe trailering.

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

I think I've decided how I'm going to go about it now. I was considering the air brake canister. But I'd have to really redo the air plumbing to do that. Also you really get into needing to separate tanks. Since I'm really only looking for a way to get better brakes, I'm going to go with the...

Click on the upgrade link at the top of any page. (Only from a browser though, if you're using tapatalk, it won't be displayed) Right now it's on sale for only $10 a year.

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

The residual valving is more for the lower MC mounting height from what I understand. Mount the MC up higher on the firewall and it wouldn't be needed. I ordered the last MC they had as well. It appears the difference is actually a safety switch to light up the brake light in the event...

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

Oh. I'm going to either mount mine to the firewall and make a "modern" pedal setup. Or mount a can to it and put it out there on the firewall. I think it'd be easier that way. And if I do, I can mount the second air pack down where the old MC went.

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

Are you talking about the remote reservoir or are you talking about a mounting plate for the MC? Mount for it will have to be one off made.

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

Uploaded the drawing. I think this means there's about 54.5mm of travel. Or about 2" of travel. I'm getting it's from the 20 and 34.5mm measurements where things are measured for the front and rear pistons. Now to figure out brake can setup or just a simple firewall mount and a second...

Yes, Dorman sent me a terrible drawing of the MC I mentioned. I was trying to figure out stroke length.

That appears to be one without the check valve. Centric 130.79025 is another part number you can use.

modern dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes

Wilwood emailed me back, they don't make a cylinder large enough for our trucks. So that's out. But I wonder if the three separate MC one would work.... Splitting all three axles. But that'd be a lot of plumbing to make that work. Anyhow, after speaking with Peashooter. He recommends dorman...
