And then... start all over again? No, not me...
I look at such simple things in a little more positive way: in this particular case these door hinges were made that way so that we "end users" - in most cases with more imagination than skills and tools - had the opportunity to re-design...
1) You are correct about the M416 pattern: 5 on 5-1/2"
2) The bolt pattern on the M116 rim is 5 on 6-7/8" (same as M37 and variants, plus the M101A1 and -A2 (3/4ton) trailers, as stated earlier).
3) M105 (1-1/2ton) trailers share the same pattern as the M35 variants and all other M44 series...

There is some good info here... regarding exactly that running light issue- and some very simple ways described to solve it.

Here a late update to my post #7: I thought I had the heads from a stock LDS427-2 which I took apart years ago... But those turned out to be from an early LD465, so I must have sold the other pair... (... bummer!)
Reason enough to move on to Plan "B" and pull the heads off of another...
I do have both model heads here, loose in the shelve, but never bothered to actually compare them to tell any basic differences. I may do that tomorrow.
The LDS427-2 head part No. is #11641632, while the head of the LDT465-1C is #11641633.
The poppet valves have different part numbers also, but...
Interesting. Since the pins are not shown in the A3-parts manual one would assume that they are exactly the same, for all M44-series trucks...?
The ones I have are all from the early times, up to the 70's A2-series, and they all measure 43.5 - 44.0 mm, from inside the slot to the rounded tip...
I don't think so... It takes me not much more then 15 minutes to remove/turn down the donut portion from the original 1-piece (run flat)insert. What remains is a relatively flexible band, about 3/4" thick, which can easily be installed- or pulled from inside the tire, with bare hands. The weight...
If I really had a reason to keep the original run-flat function, I would use silicone grease.
Otherwise, that insert can be modified to function as beadlock-only. This pic shows the before and after...

The diagram below shows the different pick-up tube configurations for the oil pump on the Multifuel engines: 5ton vs. Deuce application...

Agreed for a BAD shimmy... but you could have all nice and tight and still experience a slight (but still very annoying)shimmy-kind of vibration which is normally caused by front tire imbalance.
Yes, it works! And even better if you replaced the tapered bearings and adapt ball bearings instead...
Yes, both vehicles share the same bolt pattern: 8 on Ø6.5"
You are aware that the HMMWV-wheel has about 2-1/4" more backspace than the M880-wheel..?

Go to this thread, see Peashooter's post #44 and #45, plus Clinto's post #42 and #43...
Edit: since that ad had been deleted (per sellers request) I have moved Clinto's very helpful posts with pics, out of it and over to that thread, linked above.
It actually should appear AFTER...
Thanks for pointing this out; yes those links all went dead.
One of them is at the top of page 3: TM9-4910-593-12&P (Medium Towbar). This one opened well.
I will put in the upload-section what I have so far: TM9-4910-496-10; FM20-22 and FM5-125.
Someone else may be able to help out with the...
