    Vic 1 Radio Power

Tbanks, popasmoke, thank you! When I purchase something on ebay or where ever, I do as much research as I can. I don't buy unless I trust and your connecting has proven that trust. Won't say the equipment is to blame, I could have easily fried something (that's what you sometimes get when a...

    Vic 1 Radio Power

I offered to buy her a diamond ring, no luck. Offered to buy her a deuce...no luck. I'll washing dishes and clothes for a year at this rate.... If anyone repairs AM-1780's (other than the Army) please pass that on.

    Vic 1 Radio Power

I completely removed the power cord and Ohmed the wires. Both red go to B and both black got to A. It was wired correctly internally. Just in case, I'll reconnect the reds to the POS of the batteries and ground the black to a frame ground. I got a bad feeling the 1780 is toast. Anyone know a...

    Vic 1 Radio Power

Thanks everyone! The internals are all in the 1780. Looking at the schematic, it looks like A is supposed to be ground, B is power and c and D aren't shown (TM 11-5830-340-30, FO-2 on page FP-3). This makes sense to me since it should only be a power and ground set up (at least to my...

    Vic 1 Radio Power

cranetruck, Boatcarpenter, thanks for the help. The system was sold as a functioning set up, which leads me to believe it's a power issue. What I can gather from the schematic, C is power, not A. Might have to rethink this radio thing. Engines, easy, transmissions, axles, not a problem...

    Vic 1 Radio Power

Well, I went over the whole schematic and I must confess, Greek is probably easier to read. With everything hooked up, nothing works. Turn power on, no power light. Checked the bulb looks ok. Can anyone tell me which pins are supposed to be hot on the CX-13302 cable connector?

    Vic 1 Radio Power

Thank you. I'll find one of the MX7777's. More questions: There are four pins for the power plug A, B, C and D. When I check for power with a multimeter, I get 25.1 VDC between A and B. I get nothing anywhere else. Am I supposed to? On helicopters we always have wiring diagrams with voltages...

    Vic 1 Radio Power

In a nutshell then, this is a plug and play system as long as the power supply is correct, if I understand correctly. Unplug the power cord from the mount, plug it into the AM-1780 and connect all the other components. Turn on the power switch, cross your fingers and hope it works. Sound...

    Vic 1 Radio Power

The cable number is CX-13302/VRC. My field of expertise isn't electronics. When it comes to radios if it doesn't have an on/off switch I'm in trouble. Do I have to have the radio in order to get the vic 1 working?

    Vic 1 Radio Power

No radio is installed. Just the mount with the power cord running to it and a speaker behind the PAX seat with a wire that'll fit into a crew members control box. I'll get the number off the power cable and post it. Sounds like I'll need to check the wiring where they come out to the battery...

    Vic 1 Radio Power

After extensively researching the installation of the vic 1, I have sufficient information, I think, to install my system, many thanks to all the posts throughout this site! Here's the problem: Power. I think the wiring to the batteries is wrong but can't find the correct wiring diagram which...

    My new uh-1e marine helo.

Ewa Marine, the bird in your picture is at Pensacola and is a Navy bird from HAL 5, if my memory serves me correctly. I saw it several years ago when it was first painted and it had a high gloss finish. We had a 53 when I got to my first base going to get the dull paint job. This gloss looks a...

    My new uh-1e marine helo.

If I may ask, what kind of paint did you get? Looks like you've started scuffing the paint. Most of the aircraft gloss paints only need the scuffing. I painted the static F model at Malmstrom AFB and thats all I needed to do. It's been 12 years since then and the paint seems to be holding...

    RPMs drop too low

Weren't the fuel filter. Once it gets good and warmed up, there's no problem with idle. Can igniter plugs do it? I don't know the ignition system yet. Is the ignition a constant on system? Meaning it stays hot at all times? Seems strange that engine temp improves engine idle. I'm not...

Padlock key? And transfercase seal part#

I have two on my deuce. I talked to a lock smith about the very same thing. Simply put, if it has a number such as a 4 or 5 digit one, they can re-key. I have one they can re-key because it has the code. The other hasn't got any numbers. I'll re-key the one, hope the key works on the other...
