Disagree.
The OEM's use 4" standoffs with a 3" tuck in the metal back to the rim.
MWE use a 2" standoff with what looks like no more than 1" tuck back into the rim.
A flat disc (and I'm talking like a giant washer, not a solid disc) could use a 1" standoff and sit flat on the edge of the rim...
I don't think so...
My 260a on my truck makes 260a on the 28v side and 140a on the 14v side. Now whether it alternates that thru the magic smoke contained within or if it does it at all the same time, I've no idea (I suspect the former).
If memory serves, the 100a OEM 28/14 puts out 100a/40a...
I've said for years, just make it a flat disc like rock crawlers use, like sand car bead locks.
Just a flat disc bolted to standoffs (like the $3 standoffs and a $1 bolt that MWE or the OEM use).
LOL
I didn't want to be the first to say it, but yep.
Why only three? To save money.
But they don't look the same distance apart and that would drive me insane (LOL).
The price is not too unreasonable assuming powder coated, but for another $5 in hardware they could have done it right.
I...
My rule of thumb is carry your tools with you and as many of the common issues spare parts as you can. Fluids, hose repair kits, tire plugs, etc. All your tire changing kit and tools. A Sherpa winch would come in handy (along with sand anchor, crane straps for trees and boulders, come-along or...
Be advised, the rebuild kit for these is not simply standard o-rings.
There is a place local to me that sells the kits for $20
I'll PM you the link (the mods don't like links in here some times unless it's sponsors)
What year truck?
If an AO (facing truck) there are two cables coming in inboard/forward (top/left). These are your 24v (on the AO's the two are paired together, on the A1R it is a single cable (I've never owned an A1).
Then one single inboard/middle (center/top). This is 12v
And one that...
Dual 6TLs on all my trucks.
Mostly because I like the OEM tie down system and didn't want to hack up the top in case I reverted back to four (never know when we *all* may be at war or have to bug out to nasty cold places, etc). ;) But I've seen people retrofit all sorts of sizes. There are a...
Go dual unless you are in N. Maine, Alaska, Montana, etc. In GA you don't need four.
Set up for dual. You can always swap back.
All three of my trucks were converted to two (you can even use the existing cables).
*not my image, but it's what I used.
Na, just going to be a beach truck.
I hate to dump $300 of oil into there to flush and refill. I've never seen an automatic that got wet that had clutches which survived.
:(
Lots. Looks like the truck was forded with the breather plug open. No cross-contamination to the engine (which is running awesome). I had seen it on the dipstick and pretty much knew the clutch packs were goo. Of course the t-case is goo as well.
Now to find a compatible replacement for a 3070
