you will spend a couple hundred bucks with cat but that would be my suggestion as its about 1500 bucks to get set up with e-t for a year and than subscription renewals after that. unless you use it a lot its best just to pay cat
I think it is because there is more income there. also as stated looking at the Washington trucks they seem to have less miles on them than trucks at ntc or over on the east coast. another thing to consider might be they are finding their way to Alaska where they are in high demand. and seattle...
use the soft plug heater and 750 watts will do what a 3000 watt tank heater will do. unless you love to spend money with your electric company. either heater will require draining coolant, and tank heaters have to be located properly for convection to happen in order to warm the whole block.
no that's all part of the hard programing I have seen spikes do strange things but it is only rare. Usually when you see something altered it is an accidental stroke of a key and the person plugged in doesn't even know it.
that's what I'm thinking using the engine serial number you can check with Cat they can tell you if that engine ever had one. Most functions like that can be disabled or enabled through Cat e-t you may need a factory pass word to do so, which means a trip to the cat dealer. at that time if you...
here's my suggestion take the serial number off the engine run to the cat dealer see if it was equipped with such a thing if it is fix it. if not they can deactivate the function in the ecm with cat e-t. One thing to remember if it has the intake heater you do not want to add a starting fluid...
I don't believe the a- 1 had the intake heater it should have had an eather system as long as the code doesn't set a cel I would think it should be ok the 3126 was a pretty basic engine with no real emissions package just an electronic control system. it should be able to be fixed by havein...
I have my own personal Cat ET program, im not worried about being able to service it my self. based on my experience I would rather have the all mechanical 3116 even if it is cold blooded to start in the winter. As for the electronic engines it's the c-7 hands down. the operating system is more...
you must have got the one I robbed check valves and vim from. we had adaptor cables that we had to install when we changed transmissions in Iraq. if you have a new transmission you may have to wec 2 to wec 3 adapter harness. its been quite a while since I did a trans job on one, it seems I had...
the things ride pretty good I see no reason for air ride. ive herd tail if you sit too long in the seats they get un comfortable a good set of mastercraft suspension seats like the off road market uses will cure that. we had master craft seats in the trucks equipped with lsa cabs and I could...
the block heater will help it start I have run pour point depressed fuel down to below 0 with good success after 10 below you have to let things warm up so you are returning warm fuel to the tanks or you risk plugging the filter with wax.
ive seen smaller rims set up so you could un bolt a few lug nuts and bolt a winch drum on makes more since than the rebar through the tie down point. this can also be done with a duce or 5 ton with dual wheels by running the ropes between the wheels. The BDAR manual makes for some good reading...
trust me your commercial vehicle enforcement officer will know exactly how to handle it, his criteria has to do with vehicle weight size equipment and if hazmat is involved. Don't be afraid of them they work for compliance and safety, they are not about writing tickets even if a random stop...
complaints are one thing, I have also seen where the blocks are junk because they were cast in france. there was a limited run of weak blocks that had this problem, but a google search would have you think all the motors had this problem. the sn series for the lmtv' were built here in America...
I cant quote your state laws. generally non commercial vehicles are exempt per federal statute. I know of some farm states that farm plates exempt you from dot numbers inspections and logbooks, but not scales. In the state of ak you will buy commercial plates for a private truck, their way of...
these engines are known for a lot of things dropping valves aren't one of them. Seat failures and injector cup issues in a few sn ranges for shure . most failures how ever can be traced back to an overheat condition or air in the fuel system causing injection system failures. one thing these...
