Correct. Still ground the gen set. When powering the house, the gen set gets its ground from the house. SOOOOOOOO, what happens if the house is not being powered up? No ground. I will tell people to get a pro to hook up your house. Back feeding and such shade tree stuff can kill you. Get a pro...
So how many hours are on the clock? Or is that a state secret?
You might want to down load all the TM's and the LO, and take a look at them. The LO, Lubrication Order, tells you when to service the set. The LO tells you that at 250 hours to change the oil. So if the set has more then 250 hours...
If you are going to run your house on the gen set, then do not forget to remove the ground bonding link on the gen set. There are only about a million threads on this subject. You will not live long enough to read them all.

That switch is in every MEP-8** gen set, so dont just confine yourself to asking people with 802, 803 and 804 sets. When you tested the bad switch, did you take it compleatly out of the gen set, before testing it?
Do not waste time and money on a locking door handle. Like M813rc wrote, its useless. If you want to keep the truck like the soldiers had it, weld the chain to the seat. 20 years in the Army, never saw it any other way.
Did the MEP-802A ever run? Did YOU ever see it run. Or are you assuming its good? And just switched it. True, they are interchangeable, but if you did not know if the 802A box was good, you may have jumped the gun.
What works when you put the S1 in the start position? Will it start? Will it run...
