I read this post and went straight out to buy some. I used 3 cans on the roof and front pillar. I think the roof needs another can in the center (might have to drill a hole). I am going to buy three more cans to fill the rear pillars, below the rear window, doors, and the open area below the...

Does anyone have any parts # or knowledge/pictures of a radio setup that mounts above the glovebox or above the 4x4 shifter for the pickup. I want to install a radio but Im hung up on where to find the mount to place it in the cab. I have seen some M1009's with a radio in the front. I think...
I placed the equalizer on the fender between the front battery tray. I just had to move the battery closer to the motor. That way my 2ga. wires or super short. I ordered 140a breakers but I dont think I will use them.
Well I installed the equalizer. I did not delete anything and only installed the equalizer (just in case it ever fails so I have still two alternators and the DUVAC adding to the charge). It did the trick and keeps the front battery at 14.4v with the full 12v load. Easy/ cheap fix ($200)for...
I running 36" swampers with a 4" rancho spring in the front and nothing in the rear. With front fender triming, the do great. For my M1028, there was no need to lift the rear to fit the tires(front does sit 2" or so inches higher) but no leaf wrap common with blocks.
After looking hi and low, I finally found the weakest part of a military vehicle (CUCVS and more). They were pricey at $30 (small price to pay when your thinking about blowing up your truck to generate some heat)but my friends and I never have to worry about being stuck somewhere without a...
Ambulancechser
Thanks for the advice. I will remove the top and the DUVAC this weekend. Have you thought about plumbing your huge AC compressor for air?
What would happen if I wired the top alternator just like the bottom and ran it also to the bus for more 24 volt power or do they have to be isolated. Now would having 2x100 amp alternators cause anything (like the batteries) to blow up/start a fire or would the alternator regulator be able to...
Ambulancechser,
Where did you get the resetable breakers (need 125amp). I just ordered a Surepower 100amp equalizer severe duty (far more than I need, no extra lights etc) 3 wire 24v- 12v- and ground. I was going to hook it up directly to the second posts on my battery and then begin to...
Hey Ambulancechaser,
I am installing a 100amp 24 12 equalizer. I plan on leaving my leece system if it will work together (I hope, what do you think). If not, did you just tear out the the DUVAC/volt reg and all wiring leaving just the lower alt in place hooked up straight to the 24v bus? I...
Has anyone placed bucket seats in the pickup. Is it just a drill/bolt in install? I think the floorboards are the same so I dont see why not. If so, anyone got a clean pair that they what to get rid of? ThX
Does anyone know if the military addressed the cracked frame issue caused by the over stressed steering box? I think I read somewhere (maybe a tb) how there was a retrofit kit offered for the military pickup (if so, how would I tell if my truck has it installed). Cant find anything on it in...
I had the same problem. Check to see if your truck has been retrofitted. My truck was retrofit but they forgot to adjust the Duvac. Once I adjusted it, my problems went away. You can find the retrofit manual and a ton of info on the leece charging/Duvac system here...
