    A Cat yellow Detroit?!?

It doesn't look like it, but then I haven't even put this one on the lift to check things out yet.

    A Cat yellow Detroit?!?

I'm just curious about this. Has anyone else ever seen a 6.2 painted Cat yellow? I'm guessing that it could've been rebuilt at some point, and being a diesel the rebuilder used Cat paint. But with only 7,000 miles on it, a rebuild doesn't seem overly likely. If that's indeed the actual mileage.

It was such a pleasure to hop (okay, maybe "hop" isn't the most correct word with a bum back) into the SEE today and find that there was 60 psi in the tanks, and it fired right up. I mean right up - maybe one and a half revolutions. And that's after it had sat for about two months. Started the...

If you decide to try going that speed, please consider including me in your will. I'd like to get what's left of your SEE afterwards.

M1028A2.. Dana 70HD rear end with power lock limited slip?

Somewhat to my surprise, that's exactly what I found after changing out a Powr-Lok for a Detroit in the front of my Jeep. Usually I'm in 2WD as much as possible, but noticed that in very twisty sand washes the Jeep would turn almost 50% better when in 4WD. That the steering became much lighter...

M1028A2.. Dana 70HD rear end with power lock limited slip?

While the Powr-Lok is very good, it's hard to beat the No-Spin, I think. I have Detroit Lockers (front and rear) in two Jeeps, rear only in one Jeep and a Suburban, and No-spins in the M10XXs and the Peterbilt. But yes, with first generation BFG All-Terrains, unequal length axle shafts (offset...

I wouldn't worry about having your evaluation done within 24 hours. GP is pretty good about making things right after a sale. At least that has been my experience. Of course, I don't start the conversation with ragging on them, or demanding anything. Maybe that helps? What I would worry about...

I think that the wildcard in the FLU market is the people (the majority?) who buy them to get a Unimog, not to get a FLU. For example, how else would one explain the recent sale of a SEE with two pulled-apart loader cylinders, and one of the bucket pivot points partially ripped off the loader...

Nice. That should be good for an extra 5, maybe 10 mph.

Darn it, now you've made me wonder if I have one for my 4L80E. I think I've seen it in a box somewhere, but...

M1028A2.. Dana 70HD rear end with power lock limited slip?

Could've been a lot worse. The Powr-Lok is a very good limited slip.

    FLU fuel issues

Hey, until my back lets me work effectively again, I might as well read up on the subject - and pester you by email.

It could all be a blessing in disguise, alpine44. Now you can seek out a better one - and maybe for less money, especially in the long run.

You may be able to live without the doghouse if you have very effective hearing protection. My advice for jump starting the SEE once it arrives is don't. Look things over and check fluids before any starting attempts. Then, jump starting a 24 Volt system is the same as with 12 Volts, except...

Stuck backhoe bucket pin on SEE

Yep, that and where the SEE came from. Being that mine lived near Tacoma, Washington, it even had moss growing on it in places. And peakbagger, I also bought slightly larger snap ring pliers afterwards, just in case.

4l80 6.5 flywheel cover and torque rods.

If you can't locate one, consider making one - or having one made - from a common 4-bolt version. It's only a matter of some welding and minor machining.

It'll be an easy fix - if you have power to the temp sensor. If not, I hope you kept one of those nice wiring charts for yourself...oh, wait, those circuits aren't on there, are they?

I've thought about running two 12 Volt fans instead of the harder to find 24 Volt versions, and apparently the military also thought that it would be a good idea for cooling FLU hydraulics. Of course, the downside is that if one fan goes bad, both will stop working.

4l80 6.5 flywheel cover and torque rods.

That would be the factory setup on a '91 Crew Cab. Of course, only about 1,500 of those were made. If you can't find the rods, making your own should be easy enough.

    GM 10 bolt....

Don't we all know what a busted Gov-Lok looks like? I barely remember what they look like while still intact, though.
