Depends on the blower motor somewhat, one manual suggests 5 ohms and I would recommend that the wattage rating be about 100 to make sure it won't burn up.
You may want to add some variations to the spelling (treadle) in the description to make it easier to find....
Just curious, does it have a patent number on it?
It's actually 195-205 hp at 2,800 rpm.
Crankshaft: "Increased counter weighting and reduced bearing clearances"
Camshaft: "Improved lobe design and different timing events to reduce tappet loading and reduce over speed failure."
Turbocharger: "Dual chambered, designed specifically for this...
The circuit breaker within the 3-lever switch tripped. A sudden overload will effect all the lights...
It happened to me one time driving with the m105 trailer (=extra lights), so I added a manual override/bypass circuit to switch the lights back on...later added a separate circuit that involved...
Oh boy, looks like your project is growing each time you work on it...
The cab on the m925 in Mt airy is in much better condition IIRC, problem would be transportation...
Those images really make me appreciate the aluminum cab on the 757.
Thanks Marti! The operation matches what I have from the TM, so it's an ON/OFF operation then?
The retarder was not used according to conversations I have had with the drivers of these vehicles, but the trucks had prepunched holes for another pedal which is the same hole pattern as used for the...
Look for the TM 9 2320-272-34-1 also, it has good coverage on the Cummins engine service/rebuild....
PM me if interested, I don't refer to it very often.
Thanks.
The 8x8 uses a hydraulic retarder, so the range selector wouldn't apply, was wondering about that...it's enabled by a lever on the transmission. Don't know if it's an on/off type of thing or if it's a gradual engagement. More fun stuff to learn. :-)
I like search functions as much as the next guy, but you really have to play around with a number of keywords to find the "right" answer here....
You almost have to know what specific post you are looking for to be successful in finding the thread Gerhard pulled up. Using keywords "pto" and...
This image is from the M915 operator's TM...I'm interested in installing a similar foot pedal (item #2) in my 8x8, which has mounting holes for an additional pedal, but it was never used by the military and not covered in the TM's.
So, I'd appreciate some info, is it electric or pneumatic? How...
About the air gauge hook-up, there are 3 tanks and the TM version has the gauge showing the pressure in the check valve protected tanks, while the dedicated plumbing goes to the first tank, which could lose pressure before the other tanks...hmmm, may have figured it out just mentioning it here....
Next time you go to your museum, please get some more info on those tires. As far as a I know they were only used experimentally on the Lockheed Twister other than the m656/xm757 series.
I agree with you on the "small" projects thing, if you go back and look at all my xm757 posts, you'll see...
Yeah, really, to me working on them is the hobby, the driving part is just a "treat".
My 5-ton tractor has only been driven a few miles in the 3 years that I have had it, but I do very much enjoy it. You do need to have it close to home, though, so that it's doesn't become somebody else's...
Just "hanging in there" (on my part) eats away at the fun factor, but making little things into big projects becomes an art..... kind'a explains your injector cleaning job EZ.
That's why I always stow the crane over the bed, knocks about 1,000 lb off the front axle load.
It's not easy to steer with 8,000 plus lb on the front axle. :-)
How do you keep it covered when you are not working on it? Thinking about the downpour we are having at the moment. :-)
Why not rent a small portable compressor for the day?
