If you want it to lay flat, there's a bunch of generic systems on the internet that use a three webbing straps, coming together in the center, to hold down the tire. They come with bed-mount brackets that you could drill the bed to lock in place. You could probably fab up something on your own...
Well, after having a blast yesterday with the Indiana MVPA and getting to ride around in a 1950s jeeps and an M35A1, I turned back to my own HMMWV to get started on the deconstruction before the transmission wiring can take place. My roommate was an excellent hand for helping get those troop...
And as for the part, I checked all the sources I know of and couldn't find it, but I can at least link you to a page that has the technical specs of the bolt. If you needed to replace, you might be able to take this to a fastener supply house and they can get you a compatible bolt...
I noticed that, too, but I was very transparent with what I was doing. They have you setup an account before you can purchase and they manually approve that account. Company was "N/A" for me and the user type I selected was "Hobbyist." They approved me within the hour, and my order went...
My batteries hold enough charge to restart the truck for about 6 weeks, but they're also what came with my HMMWV from auction. I'm just glad they hold a fair charge, even if the self discharge is very high. (these numbers have been with them disconnected continuously, drawing no load) I think...
So they never came to fruition here? Well, in that case, defer to the first part of the last sentence I wrote: I wish they would be available for those with the pocket book for them.
Full transparency: I wouldn't buy one. H1s were far too expensive for me when they circulated around, so H1 round 2 would still be too expensive for me. Surplus is the right price and the right equipment level for me. I do agree that I wish they could be available for those with the pocket...
I'm assuming you have the STE/ICE-R? The one where you push buttons up and down to select a test and then run it on the box? If so, this does the same job, but it's all computer-controlled. It's setup in a pretty legacy manner, too, because all of the IETMs refer to the tests in conducts by...
Yesterday, I had a chance to meet vitamink and check out his HMMWV. Didn't get the official nomenclature for it while I was there, but it looked like it was an M1025. Either way, it was a blast to just take it around the block and talk with him about what he's done with it so far and what he...
Excelsior! I was able to tweak the disc a bit and successfully got the ICE drivers to install. Plugged in the main connector to the STE/ICE port and connected the ICE Box to the serial port on my laptop and was able to feed live voltage data through. I used both the straight ICE tool, and the...
So mixed news! I got the set and scoured through it... It has both CDs (1 is the OS and core OS driver disk, 2 is all of the drivers to run the actual ICE kit, Dearborn adapter, and other items related to the MSD kit.), everything is in great shape, but it's missing one cable... The good news...
Excellent finds, maddawg. I'm still flipping my coin to decide if I'm going to be at the Dayton Hamfest or the Findlay Military show. I've got far too many places to be that weekend to make both, unless I squeak them into the same day. Whichever I choose, I'll be sure to snap up any pictures...
Not my computer itself, but it's on our work network (on some other sites, used to see a lot of ads for single, asian women while at work...clearly somebody in this office is lonely).
The real kicker is that I get the exact same ads about divorce and some random oddballs while at home on my...
So, I'm curious how the banner ads are selected for this site. Obviously the side banner and very top of the page are direct sponsor ads, but the rotating ads between the breadcrumb links and the actual forum topics is what confounds me. Half the time, it's stuff that's obvious based on my...
So what's really funny about this to me is that for the motorcycle I ride and work on, there's two parts that have so commonly confounded people as to what they are that they've taken on babbling jibbersh names for what they're recognized by. The first thing I'm pretty sure is officially called...
Well, if the fan isn't running when you enter the water, it's extremely unlikely to start running. Think about how much additional cooling that the body of water provides and how rapidly your engine temperature will drop. As always, slowly enter the water with caution and you shouldn't have...
Can't comment on the 60/100A regulators at this time. I do know that the 200A is clearly bolted onto the outside and is what also provides the 12V output.
Only real drawbacks I see to the 200A are the size, weight, and additional cabling that must be run. It just makes it a bit more difficult...
