LDS VS LDT and the real differences

What's with all the attitude guys? This isn't the kind of thing I'm used to seeing around here. I don't think this guy ha posted anything that warrants the kind of response he's received. The kind of threads pop up occasionally, and worse (zombie/apocalypse-proof air filtration?), and you know...

Has anyone built a big slide-in "truck" camper for a M35 Deuce?

In my case, it's because I'm going to be pulling a custom enclosed M103A3 trailer full of all my dirtbikes and other toys, tools, etc. M109 box has been converted into a live/work space. But there are a lot of trade-offs in either case, and you make a good point.

Has anyone built a big slide-in "truck" camper for a M35 Deuce?

No, I haven't gotten to that yet. Still something that I'm planning on doing, but I haven't been able to spend much time working on Mah Deuce lately, and I've got a lot more pressing concerns (engine swap, install the new cab, paint, plumbing, propane, electrical, etc.). The jacks are something...

    Field-expedient Deuce tire lift technique

um... rearry? This would be my first choice too. Just go buy something like one of the harbor freight hoists that a lot of us are using. Doesn't have to be a permanent install, and you could stow it somewhere else on/under the truck so you'll have it when you need it. Maybe something like this?

    M146 Camper

That's a good call. Hadn't actually thought about locking the doors open, but seems sort of obvious now that you mention it. Not too worried about getting locked inside my M109 shelter, as there are so many windows to climb out through if I ever needed to.

    Cheap fuel for Haspin 2011?

I'm on the other side of the country, but that's really cool of you to hook everybody up like this.

    Thanks Hammer!

Ed sold me a solid M109 too. Was great to deal with. Thanks again Ed.

    M916 for RV Build Project

Sure, there are a lot of places where there's no getting around spending money - but you sure can save a lot if you are able to do most of the work yourself. Notice, I didn't say ALL the work. There are some guys that take that to a point where they compromise the quality of a project, just to...

    M916 for RV Build Project

And I thought my M109 was going to be a big motorhome... Seriously though, I thought about building on a 5-ton chassis, but the sheer size and weight of those trucks is really going to limit where you can take them. Like everything else, it's a compromise.

    Electric winch

There's also Warn's Olympus 25, which has pretty impressive specs.

    Hubsteps for Deuces

Finally received the 1st batch of parts, but they're **** for quality. Sorry for the delays guys, but I don't want to sell anything less than first-rate products. Will post-back as soon as I know more.

Offset the stabilizer leg to one side?

    pressurewasher sandblaster attachment

I bought one of the pressure-washer sandblasting attachments, but ended up having all the cab and all the sheetmetal parts for Mah Deuce sandblasted and primed by a professional sandblaster (Agri Trade School in Salinas, CA). Only cost $380 to have them sandblast the whole back half of my Tacoma...

So are CUCV's metric or not?

...and that's why we're stuck with the American system (because people like what they know/are comfortable with). It's not that we should switch to the metric system because everybody else is doing it - it's just BETTER. Clearly, measurably, obviously better. In every way. The American system of...

    Trailer Safety

Link? Anybody? Yeah, I'm with you here. Don't know that I'd try that at full speed, but I've had to get pretty shifty once or twice...

So are CUCV's metric or not?

It's beyond me how anyone can fail to see (or admit?) that the metric system is clearly superior to the American system. Frustrates me to no end that I am forced to measure things in inches and feet. Stupid. Just plain stupid, and embarrassing - that we (Americans) are evidently so stubborn and...

    Kipman's WMO pump works great!!

    Power steering pump for what?

    Bitten by a drill.

Ugh. Sorry to hear about that, but at least you weren't drilling a bigger hole. Got an old Hole Hawg 1/2" drill that my Grandpa gave men, and that thing has put the hurt on a few people in it's day. Wire wheels are even worse.

    EPA just banned what?

The Deuce as my backup generator

Yeah, very cool Bjorn. Clipped that photo and added it to a folder of images and notes I've been saving to reference when I build a house.
