    Real Hot-Rod Deuce!

You guys are crazy. I'd build the **** out of a hotrod deuce. Got a pretty good idea of exactly how I'd do it too. Only seems like a bad idea until you see it done right. Then you go 'ohhhhhh...'

Full hydro help needed...smart math people!

Doen't matter. The hydro assist would be taking the load OFF the steering column, steering box, and drag-link (assuming the ram is mounted to the tierod).

No, that won't clear the leafsprings or the frame. Would have to mount them down lower, underneath the leafsprings, inline with the axletubes. I've been thinking about using two rams in mah deuce instead of one double-ended ram, but for redundancy in a fully hydraulic system (not a concern given...

Perfect! Looks like exactly what unforgiven is looking for, eh? No reason to fear a double-ended ram. No less reliable than your stock tierod and if you lose hydraulic pressure, you still have 100% mechanical connection between both wheels. You're going to need to do more than tack-weld...

Stupid me for getting sucked back into this, but please tell me how a hydro steering system without any backups is any different than a mechanical steering system without any backups. If you can't acknowledge that there is an equal potential for disastrous consequences if either system were to...

Lose the mechanical connection between the steering box and the driver's-side knuckle (drag-link) and you have a TOTAL loss of steering, same as if a hose were to blow-out on a full-hydro system. Seriously man, give it a rest. You're wrong, and you're spreading misinformation.

Oh, NOW I understand what you're talking about. Using a regular orbital valve. I thought you were talking about something else, and was trying to imagine what those parts would look like and how they might work... So yes, I have seen this done before, or at least discussed. Don't remember, but...

    Lockers??

    Yes! Lockouts on BOTH wheels.

You obviously don't want to hear it, and you're even not following basic logic. No hard feelings or anything, but I'm done. Hope this is clear to everybody else.

You want to tell me that balljoints never fail? There are a lot of mechanical components that make up a traditional steering system, but balljoints can and do fail and THERE ARE NO BACKUPS. **** breaks/fails, you're fuct. One way or the other. Design, build, maintain.

Yup, it's called personal accountability, and we're each responsible for ALL the modifications we make to our vehicles. Converting to full hydro doesn't concern me a bit because I know that I can do it safely. Not trying to encourage anyone else to get into anything beyond their abilities.

I know what it's like to have a balljoint fail and lose steering... what's your point? Think about it.

Kind of a weak argument to say that full hydro is any less safe than mechanical linkage too. You're trusting your life to something one way or the other, and I don't know why you think that hydro systems are inherently any less safe than mechanical systems. For me, it's not about ultimate power...

We've been through this, and it's just not true (except for one state that someone was able to find a specific law prohibiting it). A search will turn up all the info.

I understand how hydraulic-assisted steering setups usually work, but I'm not sure if I'm following you. Are you suggesting that you could adapt something to the steering column that would direct hydraulic fluid (pressure) to the ram? That's an interesting idea. Not sure I've ever seen anything...

    Lockers??

Not sure what you mean. If the diff is welded (or you're running a spool), but you have locking hubs on that axle, when they're unlocked you wouldn't be sending any power to the wheels/tires connected to that axle. So you wouldn't notice anything.

    M105A3 jack

Would like to see a picture. Not familiar with what you're talking about. My M103A3 trailer has a fold-down stabilizer leg built into the rear, but it's not any kind of jack.

    Project Off-Grid M109A3 w/w log

Good find. Heard those were tough to come by and I was more concerned about compatibility than keeping anything original so I ripped mine out and will be replacing it with an RV-style plug.

    Storage Tank Cleaning

Sounds like your free storage tank could end up costing you an arm and a leg. THat guy tricked you into hauling away his hazardous waste. haha.
