    If the lights 'went out' the re-lit after a while..you could have a short circuit somewhere, and the thermal relay protection is cutting out, and then, back in.

    Absolutely not. You need the batteries wired in series for 24volts and they are already wired for 12 volts in parallel. You would short them out trying to do both circuits at the same time.

    agree with re-build it. (yourself). Save dollars, learn about your truck some more. And very Satisfying. It really isn't that difficult, just take your time and be methodical/ There are plenty of manuals on the subject.

    So one my friends deuce is knocking away (as usual) and he, (being not of mechanical inclination), I Climbed up to adjust the tappets. (Valve clearances). (ache ache etc etc!)
