If you decide to go through with this project, try and find a late production 8V92 as the earlier ones were prone to leak water into the crankcase at various points internally.Oh and be sure to add a extra oil tank for the replacment oil for what leaks out!!!
They don't call em Driptroits for...

UPDATE!!!!!
Got the 211 running tonight,I have all foward and reverse gears in LOW range, but not HIGH,I gotta check the linkage tomorrow, hopefully that's all that's wrong with it.
Went this weekend to pick up the M211 I purchased from Ferro some time back,I must say the trip went flawlessly, only 1 minor fuel leak on the M54( repaired easily). But I will let the pics speak for themselves.
The total trip miles add up to 290 with 52 gallons of fuel burned which equals 5.57 mpg.
Yep,definetly a winch off of a M62,543 or 816,it could only be a LH winch off a M123E2 or M123D (they are chain drive as well)because of the drive being on the LH side.
Hey Jeff,If memory serves, the serial # should be on the outside of the right frame rail behind the front axle spring hanger. Being that it's a dual winch model,I assume it's a Mack and not a CONDEC?
Brandon
PS,I may have a complete extra front driveshaft around here somewhere.
