Small s/o on top of the pump?? Can you post a pic? If the filter is empty,,,sounds tinny when you tap on it with a wrench, pen, etc, it's out of fuel. The filter is on the low pressure side of the system, meaning it is after the lift pump and before the injection pump and normally has between 15...

    Maybe I'll Keep It!?

Nah, no twin turbos, just upgrading the stocker for a Holset air actuated VGT off a 565HP Cummins, twin turboing would just be more to go wrong. As for the cast iron sewer pipe spacers, I asked earlier if TIG welding them would be good since TIG looks cool as will the truck when I'm done...

    Maybe I'll Keep It!?

The hubs aren't for sale, only the wheels and tires. I figure since it will be driven mostly around town it and the gas will be turned up on it, I might need extra cooling for the engine. I found a couple of cool, lightweight radiators I can plumb into the top tank to give it more coolant capacity.

The shut off valve does not make noise, it only pulls in and out. Those solenoids fail quite often, you need to make sure it is pulling all the way up. Take it off and pull the lever all the way up with bailing wire to see if it starts. IIRC the travel for the lever is 2 1/2 inches. If it still...

    Maybe I'll Keep It!?

With or without the new skins? What you all fail to fathom is that I am a McGyver. I am a Mechanic, have driven fast boats and cars, go fast in the dirt. My father and his father before him were mechanics,,,my pops was only a TV repair mechanic,,,same, same, nuts and bolts. I can make ANYTHING...

That's why I'll have to add power steering too, but I know with bobbing it, it will make it easier to steer too. I'll bob first then add P/S if needed. I am going to go get the tires today!! Woo Hoo, can't wait!!!

    Maybe I'll Keep It!?

PFFFT to all you nay sayers. My truck, I can do what I want. I don't use it for trips much any more so it will be just a short hop truck. Should get good mileage, the RPMs will be low. I know starting out in low will be the thing to do, do you think I need to turn up the fuel a bit? As for on...

    Maybe I'll Keep It!?

K...I did some rough calculations. SHOULD run 74 MPH in 5th low. I think that starting out in high range would kinda hurt the clutch, that's why the low range start...don't try and argue with me, I am a mechanic ya know. There will be alot of spinning metal to stop...even tho it's in low and I...

    Maybe I'll Keep It!?

I never get stopped. I think they will be GTG. I am working on the speed calcs now. I will prolly have to add PS too. In a slow speed condition it might be hard to steer. I think if I take the ring off the truck it should help a bit with the steering. The ring stuff makes it a bit front heavy...

    Maybe I'll Keep It!?

They are a bit wide. I was thinkin' about making some spacers. I have a mess of 1/2 inch plate and some cast iron sewer pipe that I can weld up to space them. I was also thinking of just re arching the springs from an F350 to keep them tucked under the front fenders. I don't think there will be...

    Maybe I'll Keep It!?

Well, after a bit of debate in my mind...yes I answered myself, who else was gonna? I THINK I have decided to possibly keep my deuce. I came across a deal today that I can't pass on. A guy I know is scrapping a piece of equipment and the tires are just what the Dr. ordered for modding the deuce...

Help fast, cummins 250 op temps?

A clue to all, if the thing isn't pushing coolant out the overflow, it most likely is not running hot. 220-225 temps will start coolant pissin' out the tube.

    Sad day

Parking is at a premium here. All of the kids in the hood are of driving age and there is not so much space to park, so, some of the toys need to go. Someone buy it! I dropped the price again.

    Sad day

Well, I did it. After 8 years I sold one of the flock. The 105 is now in the hands of another. Kinda hurts, like losing a good friend. I almost stopped the transaction, but my youngest standing there looking happy 'cause this is where her car will go made me continue. Now all i need is to send...

    Remove/Install rear main seal NHC250 M809

I've never seen that type of rear seal carrier. Hopefully somebody else has done a rear seal on an NHC and can help out. It SHOULD come out with a slide hammer and screws. As for going together, the seal should be a teflon lip seal that comes with an installation sleeve. Push the seal onto the...
