Joesco what truck are you working on? 931a0, 931a1, 931a2? Double check that the gasket on the canister is in place and that there's only one on there.
Okay Drew you are not getting the picture the Schrader valve is to let air in or out of the system like a petcock, not inside the line for fuel flow. Also the only place I have seen them was on the bolt that holds the canister on. I wouldn't change out any of the petcocks for Schrader valves, a...
Yes the tailgates can be swapped no biggie. The glass on the other hand is a different story, I have been looking at the hinges on a jeep for just this in fact all the hardware looks to be what's needed just bigger glass and longer seals. If someone gets this done post up a lot of pictures.
Fired up my 1010 after a lot of ripping out of wires and drove it about 4 miles then coming down the drive it stuck part of the way open, glad I had good brakes. Used my toe and it came back but the more we played with it the worse it became. Tried spray lube on the outside of the shaft on both...
Yeah that's what is supposed to happen but I have one that will take off with pto engaged! So it could happen, but hopefully not. A lot of wreckers are sold missing parts and mine was missing a safety feature, the brake auto lock.
Okay so I will play devils advocate here and say don't disable the shifter lock on a wrecker, other trucks sure, I know it is unlikely to happen but the wrecker is the main one that will be running with the transmission in gear and t/c in neutral and no one in the driver's seat, if it fell back...
Make sure the air builds pressure at a good pace then shut it off and crawl around under it and listen for leaks and then climb back in and put your foot on the brakes and watch the air pressure gages and see if the pressure drop continues past about 10 psi, heck just look up a cola air brakes...
Not to beat down on a bud but a 5 gal. can of diesel there can't be any worse than the 50 gallon tank on the frame. Also if you do leave the can empty, triple rinse it, a little fuel and a lot of air is much more likely to explode or catch fire than a full can of diesel.
