    shackle mounts - forged?

I've cut-up an extra pair of rear shackle mounts, intending to weld them onto the front bumper on my Tacoma so I can flat-tow it behind Mah Deuce using my medium adjustable towbar. Before I burn these in, just want to make sure that they are forged. Yes?

It adjusts the amount of preload on one of the springs (there are two).

    pressurewasher sandblaster attachment

Just had the whole back half of one of my trucks sandblasted so that I could do some work on the rollcage. Applied Must For Rust and wouldn't recommend it. Has rusted just as quickly as untreated bare steel. I'll take a few pics.

4 wheel steering on a deuce?anyone done it?

Sure, but why NOT design/build it 'right'? Wouldn't be much work to figure out the correct geometry to get the right ackerman angle for each axle. You're absolutely right that it would be possible to use some type of mechanical linkage to connect thew two axles. Just not how I would choose to do...

    Hubsteps for Deuces

Thanks. They're not particularly useful on the back two axles on Mah Deuce, which is singled on 11:00's on custom wheels, but that's just because of the box. I only put them on there so show how they fit and what they look like.

    Thanks! Glad you like 'em.

    Hubsteps for Deuces

And here's what they look like on Mah Deuce: The small hooks that I added to the end of each of the spokes keep the wheel/tire from falling off the hub while the axle is up in the air. The way that the profile of the spokes also makes it a LOT easier to mount a wheel/tire. Just hang it...

    Hubsteps for Deuces

So here's how they went together: Start by fitting each of the spokes into the slots in the inner step-ring Then position the inner step ring and all the spokes on top of the bolt ring (the steps are keyed to the bolt-ring) Then set the outer step ring down top of all the spokes (the...

    Hubsteps for Deuces

I'm not sure, but I think it's likely that I'll end up offering an unwelded kit for sale. The pieces all lock together, so assembly and welding is a breeze. Plus, I'm not really trying to go into the business of making/selling anything on a large scale, so if I can save myself the trouble of...

    Hubsteps for Deuces

Just received the first samples of the new hubsteps (having Ballistic Fabrication cut all the parts for me). Will post some more pics of them mounted on Mah Deuce after I weld 'em up. 1st batch of hubsteps will be available as soon as I've verified that the new design is good to go. Pricing...

Another way to Bob a Deuce!

Personally, I think this whole method of hacking up trucks and trailers to build bobbers is pretty ghetto, but nobody asked my opinion and plenty of people seem happy enough with the quality to buy them...

    Installed Radials, now truck wanders

The contact patch is, fer shur. The T831's have a very squared-off tread-pattern, as opposed to the big 'ol donut-shaped stockers.

    Installed Radials, now truck wanders

Well, I haven't really put any miles on Mah Deuce since I mounted those tires. It's just on my list of things to do, while I'm installing a new cab, engine, steering and brakes. I would flip those plates if I was you too. Even with stock (manual) steering, I think it might be an improvement.

    Installed Radials, now truck wanders

This is pretty much what I was going to post. I'm running the same tires, and am planning on flipping the caster plates around.

ultimate onboard fuel filtration / processing setup

Don't apologize! Good info, and very helpful. Thanks a bunch. I'm not sure whether or not I'll need any type of pre-filter, because I the centrifuges in the turbine filter housings are supposed to remove a lot of junk before the fluid hits the filters. Really like the idea of...

ultimate onboard fuel filtration / processing setup

Thanks for posting PropDr. I haven't source fuel valves yet, but that looks like pretty much what I had in mind, except I'd like to use a lever that can be cable-operated so I can switch fuels from inside the cab on-the-fly. Hadn't seen the Oberg or Cuno filters, but looked into them after I...
