Sure. The 12 kW Lima MAC PTO generator in my M1031 SECM is wired 208 V 3-phase yet has 3 duplex NEMA 5-15s for 120, a single NEMA 6-15 at 208 volt (still single phase) and a honking NEMA 15-50 for the welder, a 3-phase 4 wire affair.
The issue is phase balance, the MAC generator has a magnetic...
I vote for misalignment. Put a voltmeter on the batteries while running, 13.5 to 14.8 volts.
Check the parts TM to make sure the right parts are on the correct side. This is possible if both alternators were pulled and parts put into a single place.
When are you going to admit you have a problem? I know I do too many 12 ounce arm curls (16 ouncers last weekend) at times but have been on the wagon since sunday night.
In circuit hydraulic systems, there is a high pressure side and a return to tank/pump side. If there is a leak between the two where the fluid is doing no work, the pump still sees the work, only manifestation of work is the fluid temperature on the return is higher. Heat is work is energy...
Yes, try the fast cold idle solenoid disconnect. But the link between brake and the problem is in the hydroboost, there is nothing between the solenoid and brake.
You could try removing right side alternator and power steering belt but you should never drive it with these two disconnected.
Cleaned up the 1031 after back to back MVPA events. Think all the water bottles and the like were found..both events were 2 day camping trips and both were hot.
Still having a tiny seep out of the oil cooler line o-ring connection right before sampling valve. The part number from the TM...
The stator does not turn, it is the rotor. Load on the generator is from back electromotive force, when the breakers are open, there is no back EMF load on the rotor.
The engines can usually run just fine alone, the MEP 002 and 003 engines have a massive flywheel on the front (blower) end, the...
I'm getting about 16,000 BTU/hour off mine. Compressor is in the peak efficiency range and condenser is oversized with very good airflow. This is based on calculations I did this morning using 400 cubic feet per minute and temperature drop of about 35 degrees.
I see ~3000 watts of cooling off...
Any vehicle can be overwhelming for a new owner. That the FAQ doesn't work only increases confusion. And many do not know pressure bleeding is a handy tool, both for removing air and diagnosing problems.
I like it so much I bought a Motive brand universal bleeder which I use on every vehicle...
Really? Take a trip to the local hardware store and get an air pressure regulator. Plus fittings to plumb it to a 1/8 NPT female. Pressurize it to 10 to 15 PSI, no more and see if the pedal feels firm.
Note, this also works on brakes in need of adjustment although only for emergency...
The high pressure cap didn't seal, it blew out the seal last weekend. So I broke down and bought a kit containing new valves, the tool and two caps. Figured I would try to tighten the valves, just in case...AND IT WORKED!! Also found the can tap that works with my manifold gauge set so I...
Seen this before, several times. Same problem, the master cylinder developed a partial vacuum, causing the wheel cylinder rubber sealing cups (the inner parts, not boots) to spring inward. With minimal brake fluid volume pumped by the master cylinder, full pressure cannot be achieved because 6...
Fuse clips in the fuse box get dirty, weak and then can cause issues. Weak clips can be retensioned. The right alternator is switched on with a relay, this can also be dirty in connections (plug) or contacts (check blackout light operation, if that works, swap relays).
Forget it. The slippage in the torque converter at highway speed would offset any potential gains. All that lost torque manifests as heat too so it would be harder on the transmission. For the money to properly install two ring and pinion gears you would be far ahead to slip in a 700R4 that...
Replaced the wood liner on the tailgate of the contact truck. The original wood had been dry rotted, carriage bolts could not be tightened as the holes were rounded out. No more sag. But need to replace the chains as they are rusted and causing the tailgate to dip to the left. All new...
