They were probably talking about how much he charges to make a tow. And Zebadee is probably referring to the m816 in 5th gear. But I have wondered of this myself as I have both a 816 and a 936 that I used yesterday to move a mep002a, back on topic.
Okay my two bits are build boxes behind the bumper on both sides to hold bii the real heavy bits no need to add weight to a heavy weight truck. Weighed my 936 with very little BII on it the other day and it came in at 38,000lbs!
Okay here's the thing GE only needs enough lift to clear what he doesn't want to cut. I have talked to him about this and he says he is not going off roading except for maybe in mine and his yards. So I think maybe a 2" spring and a easy inch to move the axle forward, and maybe no rear or just...
KaiserM109 you shouldn't need a half a can to get a 250 that ran the day before started even in single digit weather, you have a air leak in your fuel system, I would bet on it.

How slow do you need to go? There are many ways to get the gears that will get you where you need to be. I saw your first post said maybe .3 I would think that you could find out exactly how slow you need it would be easier to figure the best way to modify the truck.
Yeah you have a couple options you can use the stock Chevrolet twin tank setup or the manual valve off of a five ton with twin tanks which is probably the direction I will take because I owned a brand new 83 with the stock setup and it stinks!
I think he ment that the cold weather is partly the reason which would make a little difference in size and it might but it probably just is the last straw kind of thing, mine just leaked a bit.
KaiserM109 few things if you want to jump the truck in the backwoods most heavy equipment is 24v second if you want your batteries to live long and not have to crank it every few weeks get a solar panel of some kind I would recommend the solargizer brand, but you need the big one not the small...
