most hardware stores have a bolt sizing display you can use to match up existing bolts pretty easy, so if you have one off another injector hold down just take it in with you.
If nothing else if there is anyone halfway competent at the store they should be able to match it for you.
As Farmitall...
definitely do it a few times with the injectors out if there has been any fluid in the cylinder.
Do it until you stop seeing fluid be blown out the injector ports, then do it a couple more times to be sure.
For the first one, I'm not actually sure what you are asking about. The bracket at the edge of the windshield sticking out towards the mirror perhaps? If so, I've never seen one before, and don't know it's purpose. If you are asking about something different please let us know.
The second...
Do a quick forum search for "HMMWV won't start" and you'll come up with dozens of threads, all starting about the same as this one. There are also a couple other forums that have answers as well.
Sounds like your controller or start box is failed, you'll either need to replace parts or take...
Neither had I, but I'm not going to claim I know everything about these rigs.
Unless you are planning on actually airlifting the HMMWV, or towing max weight trailers across rough terrain, you can probably get away without the reinforcement.
On the other hand, they made the brackets and...
Doing a ground harness is definitely worth it. If installing it doesn't help issues that you are currently experiencing, then it's very likely to keep some other issue from rearing it's ugly head in the future. It's one of those "cheap insurance" type additions to the truck. Building it...
Pulling vacuum for an aircon just needs an air conditioning manifold and a vacuum pump. They can be found as cheap as $20 for air operated vacuum pumps (but they require a lot of air, 4.2CFM@90PSI) or about $50 for a single stage and $100 for a 2 stage vacuum pump. Manifolds are in the $30...
Can it be repaired?
Yes.
Should that style be repaired?
If you have the time and know how to do it, then sure, why not. Worst you'll probably do is make a non functional box still not work. (I say probably, but if you really screw it up I'm sure there could be some fire involved, so don't...
Most hydraulic pumps I've ever worked on were very simple. There really isn't a whole lot to most of them, so hopefully these are the same.
Good luck, take your time, and pay attention to what direction the seals are facing when you take it apart.
I bought some tire chains at auction. Thought it was 4 chains, turned out to be 4 pairs.
They're for 50" tires by 13.5, so cutting them down to length and removing one link from the cross chains to reduce it to size.
Nothing on it was tightened down/squeezed shut, so I'm putting cross chains...
If it were mine I'd strip apart the engine, then take the block, crank, and head to a competent machine shop for them to check out.
That bearing looks pretty toasty, I'd be very surprised if the crank bearing surface isn't at least a little messed up as well. The imprint of the valves on the...
The wheel is 8" wide where the bead seats, the tire itself is 12.5" wide.
From everything I've heard/read on going to the bigger tires there might be just a little rubbing at full lock when turning, but even without the body lift you should be okay for space with the body, unless you plan to...
unlikely to hurt the motor, if you put too much load it just bogs down.
During some playing with a 3 ton ECU I ended up putting over 9kw of load on my MEP-802A. The only effect it had was bogging down the engine until the meter read 100% load (probably about 40hz or so as a guess). You'll...
Air intake and amount of fuel injected aren't directly related in a diesel, unlike a gasoline vehicle.
A diesel will intake the same amount of air at a given speed no matter how much fuel is injected, as it doesn't have to mix the fuel and air before combustion, it just injects fuel into the...
Yup, I agree with that. The load doesn't care how much power the generator is producing, the load only cares about how much power it is receiving.
Frequency will drop as the generator is loaded, but will always read the same at both ends of the cable, no matter how much the voltage drops.
Actually, that's the opposite of what I said, or what I intended to say.
I said if the 12V isn't properly designed to deal with the possibility of reverse voltage that it could be an issue, but I assumed that the engineers thought of that and said this only becomes an issue when you add things...
Anything properly designed to go into a 12/24v system on the 12V side of things should have some type of diode or other reverse polarity protection built in.
If you're adding 12V accessories to the system by just attaching them straight to the second battery, then yes, you could potentially see...
I agree with having voltage drop, but it's not possible to drop the frequency over a wire distance no matter how much resistance there is. It will be the same frequency no matter the voltage at either end.
Unless my understanding of how alternating current is way off and my google fu is...
