No, I'm building an enclosure for an M103A3 trailer that I'm going to tow behind Mah Deuce. But I'm planning on using shipping containers for storage, and to make modular cabins and workshops and stuff.
I'd be all over that if it was one of the bigger ones that could transport shipping...
I want to know more about these. I would really like to be able to haul shipping containers behind Mah Deuce, and I thought I was going to have to use a regular 5th wheel dolly and shipping container trailer. Anybody have any experience with these things? Looks like there are manual and powered...
Fabricated steering components can be VERY strong. I'd trust my life to the fabricated pitman arm shown in this picture. But most of the modified steering arms I've seen on Rockwell axles scare me to death. Seems like most guys are hacking them to work 'better' with lifted trucks. When you start...
Well gringeltaube's never steered me wrong, and he says the parts are not interchangeable. But I'll have to rip into mine to service the wheel bearings and brakes anyway. Will look into it whenever I get around to it.
I'd like to get one or two of those job boxes to carry in my trailer. It's enclosed, but I want to be able to move some stuff from inside the trailer to outside the trailer when I set up camp. Been thinking about figuring out how to lock them up under the trailer, so they'll be harder to steal...
That sounds like an air tank out of a 5-ton. I got some of those to use on Mah Deuce, and they've got the big fittings just like yours. I'm using them to store fluids, so I was happy to find tanks with the larger fittings. I'd actually like to get a few more of them.
While we're all talking...
Well if parts are not interchangeable (or cannot be made to fit relatively easily), then OK. But if it's feasible, I'm interested. Mostly because any improvement in braking performance would be welcome, whether or not it's necessary is another question altogether. But my M109 weighed about...
So you're saying that dual wheel cylinders would be an improvement over the deuce's single wheel cylinder setup? OK. Now we just need to figure out whether these parts can in fact be swapped over. Also need to figure out the wheel cylinder bore sizes. Wonder if they're smaller, or maybe a...
No, no trouble stopping. Especially after installing all new wheel cylinders and adjusting the brakes. But better is better, and if I can swap some parts around to improve braking performance, I will.
Oh. My bad. Am I thinking of air brake parts? I meant the adjustable pivots (on cams) at the bottom. I've rebuilt the brakes on Mah Deuce, but haven't ripped into the trailer yet.
