M939A2 air compressor rebuild kit or cross reference

I just noticed this for an A2. Mine was on a 14L not an 8.3L. I don't know that my experience is still valid for your project. Sorry for the confusion.

M939A2 air compressor rebuild kit or cross reference

I had to replace mine, got a VERY nice take out from C and C Equipment, I think under $200 delivered. As far as changing it, you will need a half-moon wrench from Sears for one bolt in the back. All of the gaskets and the polymer spider were about 25 bucks at Cummins. If you have the right...

fixed, cucv wont start and i need it monday.

You can also lightly pressurize the fuel tank while someone is cranking. Use a rag and a blow gun to add a little air pressure, makes bleeding these 6.2 engines a breeze.

    Damaged CUCV Rebuild

Well it seems grerat minds all think alike. We will be attempting to just "skin it" if possible. As far as the safety, I do understand all the structure in there, my intentions were to make it "pretty" and install a really good roll bar. The "B" pilliar is alraedy just slightly puckered, so...

    Bump Cap

If they are like the ones we used in the airplane hangers, you really don't notice as they are very thin. I must be missing something on the pricing, coming up at 20+ each??

    Damaged CUCV Rebuild

Thanks, after getting the fiberglass topper off (that's where we found the rust) we; I have a buddy that also likes doing these types of repairs :) came to the same conclusion. We have not cut the roof off and will most likely proceed with the individual panal replacement. The only place we are...

    Damaged CUCV Rebuild

Well, finally getting started on this one. Found more rust than I anticipated on the "B" pilliar crossover, but I have two complete cut-off roofs now, so we will see how it comes out. I sure do miss this truck.

    Broken Pushrod

If its the same as a GM gas engine, and I presume it is, its as sinmple as pulling the old out and the new one in. Coat it with just a little wheel bearing grease and it will stay up in the hole while you install the pump.

When do you check the tranny fluid? Warm or cold?

Yes, to both questions. You are supposed to check the physical level first (cold check), just to make sure there is some, then drive it enough (hot check) to reach operating temp, then check it again. The manual has a very specific process, its two pages long, too long for a complete answer here.
