So you come on here with a problem/question. Ask for advice about how to begin/accomplish the necessary repairs. And then completely ignore all of the responses, drive the truck against all rational thought 700+ miles, twice. Take it out again and "hit a tree" and knocked the steering the...
Where did you get this information? All of the info I have read including the Army Supplement issued specifically for the ABS MRO states that the rear "axles" are equipped.
I have located a service that will test any fluid for $8 including postage, and tell you exactly what the need is. They test for additives, acidity, contamination, metals etc etc. For 8 bucks, its a cheap and scientific way to know. If any one is interested, I can scan their card and send...
Here is an engine bay shot from a 1009 that had original equipment air. This was in a GL auction a couple of months ago. Def a different bracket. I tried making the pic bigger but it doesn't come up.
Check GL event #11457, lot 5776 (ended 2 months ago so I think I am safe)

Well this one has been sitting dormant for a while, but seems to have been fixed. DH and I were determined to get this figured out. Turns out there was an apparently bent rim (driver side front outside dual). It was only visible at a certain speed in the mirrors. Changed it out with the...
The knob on the dash is an "EMERGENCY SYSTEM". It works like this: If the truck has a catastrophic air loss which causes the spring brakes to lock in a bad place, for instance on RR tracks, the knob is depressed, releasing a seperate, distinct source of air to only "RELEASE" the spring brkaes...
Its the whole unit that the red arrow points to in DH's picture above. If that is bad and you have to rely on the mechanical shutdown, you can add a return spring to it so that when you oush in the emergency shutdown, it will reset on its own. Then take your time to find the new solenoid if...
There IS a difference between "turning radius" and "turning circle"-also known as turning sweep. It is different between the two trucks when you are talking about turning circle, not turning radius. I haven't gone and looked at the TM (sorry) but I am assuming from a past life, that the...
