That sounds about right to me Ray. One coil to close it, one coil to hold it closed. the holding coil is defective. I never took one apart, as I think I have only seen 1-2 go bad, ever.
First off, dont start it again. Then pull the cover off the back, and see if there is anything loose, or hanging off.
Then remove Items 24, 33, 31. Take a gander in there to see if anything looks strange. Or burnt, Or arched.

Randomly, the computer will control the frequency, prompting me to make fine-tuning adjustments using a small screw on the Woodward. When the computer does not take control, I have to readjust the screw, allowing me to manually set it to 60Hz using the front knob.

Knew some folks in 2/2 Cav. when I was in Bamberg. Was in Nürnburg a few weeks ago, and almost anything to do with the HQ and Kasserne is gone, or so changed, you would be hard pressed to know what it was. Sad, sad. But time goes on.
Try looking at this. Unless you can SEE that someone has fooled with the linkage, do not fool with it. The only time it needs adjusting, is when someone did not read the book and fooled with it. Or replaced it, and did not read the book.
