If you are not going to put a cab on it and just use a cage why not just build a 4x4? But an 8x8 would be unique.
The idea of picking up an existing 8x8 chassis would same a lot of work and dollars even if you just striped it for parts.
Wedge brakes are fine until you have to rebuild them. The only way to make them work up to factory spec is to replace everything and that is not cheap.
You could convert it to a weed burner and move the bed forward a bid so that the axles are close to where the duece axles were and extend the frame a bit. What trans is in you m915?
